Nope, go for the best OT but I don't know if that OT is really worth the #4 overall pick.
That guy being Cam Robinson. OT is still a huge need here.
Ok, so you're finally admitting that it's not a must to draft a defensive player no matter what now. You're saying the Bears should take the best player available as long as it's a major position of need.

Besides for RB, WR, TE, G/C then yes.
I was always ok with OT.
Well, RB, WR, TE and G/C are not the main priorities this year and there are not any highly touted players at those positions, other than RB. If their biggest need was a RB then they better be grabbing Fournette or Cooks with their pick.
It is looking like we won't get the first QB in this draft, and the QB talent doesn't look so hot anyway. If it comes down to us picking a stud impact player or mediocre QB - who do you pick in the 1st round this year?
Nobody knows who will be an mediocre QB. Rodgers was taken mid round, Dalton 2rd round etc etc. You never know what they will become. They could as well be impact player or they could become medicore player, much like very other player.
That being said if I know we were going to get an impact player (I assume mulitiple times probowler) I would take the impact player over medicore QB if it happen to be an impact player at a postion we need such as CB, safety.
I agree with this. Not only don't we know who will be a mediocre QB (well, actually most of them end up being mediocre), or even for sure who will be an impact player.
I would be sick if we blew a draft pick this high on a guy who eventually ended up being a career backup. Whatever position gets drafted this year by us with this top-5 pick, my hope is that we get an absolute stud. We probably won't draft this high for a long time to come. At least I hope not. Consequently, this top-5 pick is a "big deal" and a rare Bears opportunity to get somebody very very special.
Cmon Bears. Don't blow this :-)
The problem is if the Bears do take a QB with their first pick the odds are he's going to be a back up. Not necessarily because the Bears made a bad choice but more so because that's just how hard it is to draft a great QB. I'm not for sure but I would think more first round QBs fail than any other position drafted in the first round. That has a lot to do with it being the most difficult and important position and most QBs getting drafted in the first are going to bad teams.
Unfortunately the odds say you are right. Especially when he gets thrown in there. But we still need a starting QB and we won't get one by not getting one (obviously)

1. If you think the QB is worth the pick, you go with the most important Position. 2. If you don't like any of the guys, go BPA. 3. All of the QBs have flaws and Need more time with development. 4. The QB won't start next season most likely, I think Fox rather gets a Player that helps him now. 5. If we fire Fox and hire McDaniels/Shanahan, go for his QB.

We don't know. I agree. But Pace and the scouting department should know more than we do. If their collective evaluation has these QBs rated as 2nd round talent this year, AND they have a player available to us with our pick - who is a stud in THEIR evaluation - then don't draft the mediocre guy. Again, this is their job to evaluate talent. Just like I have a job (and rats, I have to go in about 10 minutes into that 4-degree Illinois weather... poor me). LOL.
