Wow. They would be crazy to do that though. If the Bears get this one wrong, well, it's bad but only 1 draft pick bad. Albeit it's a top of the draft pick. But mortgaging 4 years of 1st round draft picks is an invitation to kill your franchise... the residual impact of that could cripple the team for a decade. If the Bears whiff, well they can just try again. Yes, it hurts but nothing like paying 4 years of 1st round picks would cripple the Commanders.
He’s a better prospect than Trey Lance, so the price tag has to be Trey Lance deal plus an extra first round pick. But if Williams is immortal, Poles should turn down the offer.
If he is in fact gonna draft him you will have to ask how long he plans to stick around. I don't think these immortal types like to hang in one place for too long.
They were talking on GMF today about Commanders trading 4 first round picks for the immortal Williams.

Talking about crazy, remember a guy named Mike Ditka? He sent all his 1999 draft picks and two of the first three picks in the 2000 draft to move up from 12th to the 5th overall pick to select Ricky Williams. Now that was crazy.

Sure was, especially for a RB. But, sometimes I think coach Ditka did it just to be in the news.
We've all been beaten over the head with the generational stuff and the JF is not the guy stuff so often and so hard that you're all starting to believe it. I'll warm up to CW when he lives up to being immortal.
He deserves a chance like anybody/everybody else.
Sure, he deserves a chance, I'm not begrudging him that. If we draft him I'll be 110% behind him. I just want management to be sure the 2024 starting QB truly IS the guy before they draft him or whoever they might draft, or might decide to stick with.

He will be winning Super Bowls like Brady and will have endless endorsements $$$. He will be adored in Chicago. Like Brady, Mahomes, Montana, he’s good for at least 3 Super Bowls.

Probably cripple WIlliams too. They couldn't put a team around him to make him successful. If he wants a team that won't do him right, he should just stick to the Bears. No one does it better.

Hell, he might win three Super Bowls just in the next year.

Yet another Williams vs JF article. This focuses on what I believe to be the most important QB trait. Quick processing. The author believes Williams has it and JF does not.
