I know it's from Sportsmockery but it was a feel good read. He mentioned that he has done a bit of a deep dive to see how the city embraces their stars and hopes if chosen by the Bears to become immortal in Chicago with Payton and Jordan.
I can't seem to copy the text but I felt good that he seems excited about the challenge.
If Williams wins us a Super Bowl here. Dude would get free drinks wherever he goes in Chicago. We still worship the 1985 Bears here.
At the very least a statue.
I ended up copying the quote from windycity gridiron.
In his conversation with Thamel, Williams also stated that there’s plenty to like about the city of Chicago as well. Williams said he loves deep dish pizza and he’s been watching Michael Jordan and Walter Payton on YouTube.
“I’m 22. I didn’t really get to see those players. As the saying goes, the legends live on,” Williams explained. “That’s my goal of playing football — it’s not money, it’s not fame ... it’s to be immortal. I want to reach that sense of being a legend. Being at the table ... and having a rightful seat through hard work and energy and time I’ve put into this game that we all love. It’s appealing to be in a city like that. With legends that you’ve looked up to ... reach for the standard they set and try to do anything to get there.”

I think a lot of the Bears fan base is now warming to the idea of Caleb being our quarterback. Even the people who like Justin Fields seem to be thawing to the idea of drafting CW now. At least a number of them seem to be. I think it helped yesterday when he talked about how he was only 22 years old and of course never saw Michael Jordan or Walter Payton play, but he went all in learning about them and then said something that I think he was directing to all of us Bears fans. He said that he wanted to be a legend like them... just like they are immortal as Chicago sports icons, THAT is what he wants. LOL, then he threw in that he even likes deep dish pizza (who doesn't, right?)
I am beginning to like this guy now, myself. He sounds like a mature kid who want to work hard to be great. Let's get it on. It has been far too long since the Bears have won a Super Bowl. Maybe this is the guy we need to do that.
Go Bears.
EDIT: LOL, I heard last night that the vendors of Bears merch are already getting ready to roll out the Bears Caleb shirts with the words "Immortal" on them.

We've all been beaten over the head with the generational stuff and the JF is not the guy stuff so often and so hard that you're all starting to believe it. I'll warm up to CW when he lives up to being immortal.

He deserves a chance like anybody/everybody else.
They were talking on GMF today about Commanders trading 4 first round picks for the immortal Williams.

Wow. They would be crazy to do that though. If the Bears get this one wrong, well, it's bad but only 1 draft pick bad. Albeit it's a top of the draft pick. But mortgaging 4 years of 1st round draft picks is an invitation to kill your franchise... the residual impact of that could cripple the team for a decade. If the Bears whiff, well they can just try again. Yes, it hurts but nothing like paying 4 years of 1st round picks would cripple the Commanders.

He’s a better prospect than Trey Lance, so the price tag has to be Trey Lance deal plus an extra first round pick. But if Williams is immortal, Poles should turn down the offer.

And those 1st rounders could turn out like top 5 picks.
We should do that, draft the top QB each year! Can you imagine the draft haul? We could not afford the salaries of those picks! But it sure would give is plenty of fun on the draft games for years to come.
