Man, I hate it when my phone (or tablet, or laptop) just up and loses something I have spent time and effort in crafting!  How do you discipline that rogue device to ensure it doesn't happen again?

I think (and also sincerely hope) that Warren and Poles are being very strategic about their plans and a playing the long game on this.  By the long game, I mean that they are looking to build a long term competitive program.  Success that can be sustained.  If they go all Ryan Pace in their planning and are willing to sacrifice our long term future for a few extra wins now, what have we really gained?  Personally, I've seen too much of that here in Chicago and don't want to see it again.  

Even if they feel that JF1 is the answer at QB, I hope they can do enough trading down to get a top WR, a top OC and hopefully really solid OG and DL prospects.  I also hope one of the consensus top 5 QBs falls and is available as a late day 3 pickup.  Having someone with real upside who can sit on the bench for a year or two could really pay off.

If they want to get their QB in the first 10 picks, it really forces them to alter their draft strategy.  If this is the path they want to go down, I really hope they love a QB who could be available at #9.  That way we could trade down from #1 and get a boatload of additional picks and either trade JF1 for and additional 1st or 2nd round pick (if possible, like to Atlanta as we have discussed here).  Or if we can't get some really solid draft capital for JF1, we keep him for up to two years to let you QB of the future develop.

I agree.  This is the best statement any of us has written on this topic in weeks.  An explanation is not an excuse.  It’s giving rational reasons for the situation.  And we never know for sure whether changes in those reasons will change the situation until the changes are completely implemented and we observe the results.  That’s why scientists do experiments to test their theories.

Fields had a 117 passer rating in the first quarter when Getsy was using his opening scripted plays.  That was the only thing Getsy did well.
