If the plan is to trade Fields, he should not offer him to anybody. Sit back and wait for suitors to come to him. Then tell them he’s keeping Fields unless he can get X,Y,Z. Of course, they all expect him to take that approach.
If JF looked like he did in ATL for the last 3 games I'm 100% down w/keeping him; he showed everything you want in a qb. It's not a physical tools thing, it's mental and I don't know that a new OC/QBC can fix that; they aren't psychiatrists.

Without chugging TOO much of JABF’s kool-aid, I think most of us would agree that from the first half of the season to the second half, the Bears were in the process of transitioning from a loser team with a loser mentality blowing 4Q leads 3 times into a more exciting team with a winning record. Beat the Lions. Fields had a big hand in both the losing and winning. Granted, the Packers game was a setback, but Fields was missing two starters on the OL and Fields was getting smothered by the pass rush. It was Brax’s and Jenkins’ worst game of the season.

I remember seeing Grossman get there despite being a pure system QB. I have my own opinion on why he eventually failed. He flashed ... more than a few times.
Is JF capable of being an elite QB... has he flashed? Is it worth keeping him and working until that flicker turns into a steady glow while you strengthen and build up the rest of the team or do you take Williams (or Maye... or anyone else) and hope he's a cheat code?

A high tide raises all ships. If the whole team continues to progress and win more games in 2024, Fields will benefit. The converse was also true during the 14-game losing streak. Losing that many games destroys self-confidence, even for a mentally strong guy like Fields. The whole team, including Fields had to dig out of that hole. I am just saying this has to be factored into the prognosis. I can’t say I’m as optimistic as JABF about 2024, but with the additions to the roster and coaching staff in 2024-25, I can see a plausible path to Super Bowl ready 2025. Maybe we can get there with Williams also, but that’s not clear to me yet.
