No surprise here. Getsy was definitely going to be a scapegoat even though Fields is one of the main reasons our offense has sucked for years. OCs are an easy target.
Guess that means Flus and Fields for one more year.
Flus yes. Fields remains to be seen. I suspect no.
I hoped not. That just puts us in the same crap we've been in for years. Draft a QB under one HC fire the HC following year rinse repeat every 3 years.

Greg Gabriel @ggabefootball My opinion won’t matter at Halas but the best guy for OC is Pep Hamilton. Interviewed for the job 2 years ago but Flus wanted GB offense. Developed Herbert as a rookie at Chargers. Was Lucks OC at Stanford and Indy. KNOWS how to work with athletic QB’s
Hell, I'm all for wanting GBs offense. Send it over here.
To me the most obvious move. I'm also wondering if this means Harbaugh really would rather the Chargers or Raiders job and that was what the delay in announcing all this was. We'll probably never really know that until one of the parties writes a book one day, but I feel like if they knew Flus was returning no matter what, they would have announced that earlier.
While I agree that we will never know, I am not sure if Flus being kept was a given. But it could have been that way as it feels to me like player input had something to do with the decisions.
I had high hopes for Tyke based on what I had heard from people with the Giants about his ability as a coach, but truthfully the receivers never developed here. Mooney regressed...whether because of injury or both. Velus is Velus and Scott didn't really progress as the season went along either.
It makes me wonder if D.J. Moore, during his exit interview with Poles and Eberflus gave input on these guys that was not favorable too.
I am just reading that the QB coach Andrew Janocko and the WR coach Tyke Tolbert are gone as well.
I'm guessing Moore had input here. I have no idea if he was good or bad, but Moore did
I am getting the feeling form a lot of social media discussions that Fields had a lot to do with that and Moore was just jumping on with Fields on this.

There are some outstanding talented people on that list. I'm pretty pumped about getting an exciting offense going here this year to go with our improving defense. Whether we keep Fields or draft a QB1 the arrow is pointing up. We have the draft/FA resources to bring in the pieces we need to top off both units THIS year. And FWIW a solid OC would have gotten far more out of the players we already had this season. Can you imagine what a legit OC talent can do if we bring in a stud like Marvin Harrison Jr to pair up with DJ Moore and a WR3 upgrade? And this draft has some excellent C talent. Watch that IOL come to life with a stud anchoring that OL center. That guy will be a multiplier like Montez Sweat was on D.
