Poles will control the NFL’s offseason again.

I am feeling very good about where the Bears are right now - poised for a fantastic 2nd year of the roster rebuild, in 2024.  In my wildest dreams I never, ever, thought we could be in THIS good of a position - what remains to be accomplished looks very doable now.  It didn't look that way a year ago.  Not to me anyway.

Do the Bears have big decisions ahead this year?  Sure.  But we have the resources available (mind blowing resources available) to take the roster to the next level in this year 2 of the rebuild.  I'll be so honest here.  I do not understand the angst of so many Bears fans right now.  It is embarrassing to read some of the social media people doing the Chicken Little "Sky is Falling" thing.  I don't get it.  I don't get it at all.  Not now anyway.  We have survived the scorched earth nuking of our roster in 2022.  And what a horrible thing that was... the sky really was falling that year.  This year we had 30 new faces on the team.  We had rookies or near-rookies everywhere, along with other new players Poles brought in.  Injuries were killing us early in the season - on top of having so many new guys.  It was a "perfect storm" of bad.

We have survived it all.

Ryan Poles is looking like a mighty good hire now... a 36 year old GM - rookie GM - and he's made a lot more solid decisions here than mistakes.  The team is clearly ascending.  It is a time to feel pretty good about things and not be wringing our hands like idiots.  I think we need to sit back and just watch what happens in this year 2 of the rebuild.  Watch what Poles does and trust the guy until he proves untrustworthy.  Right?

Yeah, I agree with your post, but that comment there has bothered me a lot this year... what happened with Mooney?  I guess the injury was a literal game-changer for the guy.  He just isn't the same guy anymore at all.  Fields has 1 legit WR in DJ Moore.  The other game when DJ and Kmet were out, it was so revealing - we got nothing left after those guys are not on the field.  I mean nothing is left.  We really need 2 WRs - legit talent guys - added this year.  Prospects are fine if they are just prospects and you are not depending on them to be anything more than that.  But we need legit talent, because opposing defenses understand that if they can even slow down DJ, we really are screwed.  

Velus was a huge whiff too.  Guy can't even return punts and is useless on offense except for the occasional jet sweep.

He shouldn't be on the roster next September.  

Wright instead of Carter was a monumental miss.  Nobody here will ever admit that.
