My only point is that they are in the same ball park. Love will top 4k this season too. Yes, he has an extra game and more attempts, but the two QBs first seasons are reasonably close stat wise. A lot of Bears fans were talking like Jordan Love was trash. He is a pretty decent QB now and he is going to get better. I get it. Bears fans are tired of GB having great QBs (four hall of famers once AR joins the Hall). But Love is good.

NO HE WON'T JABF!!!! Lmao!!
I hope you are right. And I do think we have the defense that can do that. He needs 157 yards to top 4k so he's close. And FWIW, he has only had one game all season at less than 157 (it was a 151 yard game). He passed for 245 yards on us the first meeting and just finished putting up 256 yards on the Vikings. But yeah, I'm hoping we hold him under that 4k, and more importantly that we win the game. That's really all I care about.
There's no question that keeping Fields makes things way easier in the short run. Heck, every single one of us wants JF to be the guy.
Today's game was a major step forward. Probably Fields' best performance of his career so far. Top-3 at least. As I said in the chat during the game, he would have had 4 TDs and over 300 yards passing if Tyler Scott just made plays he should have made.
I wanna see him do it again next week on the road vs Green Bay and if he does, he's for sure gonna be back. If the Rappoport report about Flus is true, he is probably already back as I can't see them keeping Flus and changing QBs.
BTW, Jordan Love already has 3600 yards passing this year and he has a game-and-a-half still to go in the season. This is Jordan freakin' Love we are talking about here. So there's zero reason for Fields to not be THROWING for 3500 minimum next season. I'm tired of hearing excuses.
PS: No one has yet explained to me how we are replacing Getsy. How is that gonna work? Who the hell does Flus have pull with to hire? Or are we keeping him despite him and Fields being a mismatch?
On Adam Ranks podcast he mentioned the Bears reaching out to an OC, or having interest in an OC thats out there "who has never been an HC before". That was the only clue he would give as to not give away too much info from his source. With that being the clue one could connect some dots and think maybe Greg Roman. He's never been an HC that I can remember.
As for Love...he's also got 200 more attempts than Fields does. I appreciate La Fleurs willingness to throw the ball and let Love work it out. He's attempted 35 or more passes in 8 games this season. Fields has done that 4 times. Love has thrown 40 or more passes 4 times to Fields 1. Just different offenses and different QB's. Hopefully if the Bears add another weapon or 2 on offense the passing game opens up more.
If we are keeping Flus, I'd love to get Greg Roman as OC. He did a lot to develop Lamar as a dual-threat QB. It's n o secret that the pass O is the weak link on this team (we are 27th right now).
Poles needs to fix this problem or we are never gonna be a real threat for a championship. I can't remember the last team that won a SB w/o a good passing attack. I know it's not impossible but it's rare in the modern era.

2015 Broncos might be the last team to do that. Peyton Manning was a shell of his former self and that defense was elite.
Jordan Love is a solid QB. Dear I say the best QB in the NFC North?
Kirk Cousins is overrated and Jared Goff is Jared Goff.
Packers really screwed themselves in the foot for not letting go of Aaron Rodgers during his MVP run. They could of got 3 first round picks, a few players and etc.. That franchise could of been so deep with draft picks and young good players right now.
LOL, I love how everyone likes to dog Cousins cuz he hasn't "won big games".
OMG Captain Kirk would be the best Bears QB in team history by an ENORMOUS MARGIN. He's thrown for 4000+ yards in 7 of his last 9 seasons and was on pace for 4800 this year before getting hurt. His WORST season in that stretch was 3600 yards, 26 TDs, & 6 INTs. That would be better than any single season by any Bears QB ever.
If you normalize Fields 2023 season to 16 games played, he'd be at 3200/21/12 for comparison.

That was the exact example I was thinking of as the exception to the rule. You need an absolute ELITE D to pull it off.

Perspective
Cousin is a pad stating QB. Struggle against good teams and put up amazing numbers against bad teams. If you have a record of not being able to win big games. Then I rather go after a rookie QB then spend the millions of dollars.
Oh I agree, we have the worst QB in the NFC North. Some of it isn't his fault though. Outside of DJ Moore. Fields has no one to throw the ball too.

Don’t forget Kmet. He’s got 70 receptions. Add Harrison to Moore and Kmet gives Fields three excellent targets. I also want a slot receiver, but that’s another story.
