I want Johnny Newton or a top edge rusher at #9 as my first priority. With Eberflus coming back, we can almost predict that the second pick will go defense. Yet somehow I want a good slot receiver.
At 9 overall you better be getting an awesome slot receiver.
On second thought, with Harrison coming, I’m OK with just trying to get a hit in the later rounds. I hope he can find one next time who can catch a football better than Scott or V. Jones. Did you happen to notice that the Packers were beating us with 3 rookie receivers?

Doesn't seem like a lot to ask for, does it? Of course, add Harrison and Moore, Harrison and Kmet SHOULD let some of these other guys get open enough to contribute. Otherwise, why are they even here?

Hell... the dud(e left off on purpose) may use our first pick on D. But hopefully, he will just be blowing in Poles ear and Poles will do what he thinks is best. I would also like to see Harrison. Somehow, I think he trades down and we don't get him
Poles can swap picks with Washington (if they want to play) and get a very high 2nd round pick and more. Washington desperately needs a QB so I think it could easily work out. It would allow us to draft Harrison and keep our #9 pick (or trade down from #9).

You are right. He said today that he has no regrets about not drafting CJ Stroud. I just about threw something at my TV, and thought “Are you F’ing kidding me?” But after I calmed down, I reminded myself that I am giving Poles to 2025 to get Super Bowl ready with what he’s doing.

If we get Harrison and even more picks, I am definitely on board.
But isn't pretty common practice in the NFL to not keep a coordinators staff coaches if they fire him? Why would we want Getsy's offense staff retained? What am I missing here with the angst over staff firings when the coordinator was fired? I don't get it.
It should have been expected that when Getsy was let go, all the OFF staff would go too. Unless one of them was going to be promoted, which we now know wasn't the case. Sometimes an OL coach will be kept for continuity, (Didn't the Bears have an OL coach that survived several HC changes?)
I have no issues with Getsy and his staff being let go. I don't have an issue with letting the next OC decide Fields or not. Teams have barely started serious draft prep (they have been scouting and throwing lists around, but not dialed in 100%) and looking at roster projections for 24-25.
I do have an issue with keeping Flus. I am 100% out on him.
Thanks, I was beginning to wonder why on earth anyone would want to keep Luke Getsy's staff guys here when (to my memory anyway) when a rotten offense has their coordinator fired you ship out his staff too. LOL, I kept thinking people had finally lost their minds and wanted the new OC to have to continue with these sub-coaches. Seemed crazy to me.

I like your idea of Newton with that 2nd pick after landing MHJ with the first. It sure looks like Poles could do a teeny tiny tradedown with that 1st pick and get MHJ and Newton - and then pick up a C and another WR in a draft that is very decent at C candidates and loaded with WR talent. I'm not saying it would be easy to do that but it sure seems possible.

That is what we want, but Poles never does what I want. He prefers quantity over quality in the draft. He passed on both the offensive and defensive rookies of the year in 2023.

I know. The SOB does seem to have an independent streak.
