DUDE...Julius Brents hasn't played in a game since OCTOBER!!!!! How is he "better than Stevenson" when he isn't even on the field??!!!!! Stop looking at PFF scores.
DUDE….i watched him in college as well as a pro. He shut down Johnston head-to-head. I posted about that at the time. The reason the Colts drafted him ahead of Stevenson is that he’s better than Stevenson. I just checked his PFF grade, and it is good. Stevenson is about 20 points under him. He is tall, has good speed, and can switch seamlessly between press coverage and zone. Have you ever seen him play?
He's so good (at the NFL LEVEL) and a mediocre team like the Colts can't see fit to start him? Hmmm, that doesn't sound right. I know nothing about Brents specifically except that, unless hurt, he can't be that good at this point if he's riding the bench.
Oh and BTW, the Colts are another one of those teams whose roster is meh but are playing better than the Bears in 2023 due to far better coaching.
He was a stopgap FA signing in a teardown season who was coming off his best football the year prior. He sucked here in 2022 and was released as he should have been.
Nothing else to see here. This kind of stuff with lottery ticket FAs happens on almost every team almost every year.
Seriously, David, please stop trolling. You know Muhammed was the minor-est of "misses" and every GM has those all the time.
None of that changes the fact that he was one of many absolute DOGS that Poles brought in 2022 and continues in 2023. He’s wasted millions on some of them like him, Leatherwood and Pringle that could have been used on free agents who can play. All GMs make mistakes — and some make more mistakes and bigger mistakes than others.
I don't consider inexpensive short-term lottery tickets to be mistakes. That's ridiculous, especially considering it was a tank year where all they were trying to do is reset the salary cap which Pace left in ruins. It's equally ridiculous that you still can't let go of all this nonsense from the teardown year last season. Didn't you just say that "a child could do it"?

You are just trolling at this point.
All those "inexpensive" players add up to a big chuck of money. We don't expect most of them to make the roster and stick beyond their 1-2 year contract. That is true. But with the exception of Jack Sanborn, I am not impressed with his free agent recruits. Besides, he passed over EVERY one of the guys I wanted in favor of these lost dog WRs, etc. That's what really pisses me off. These Panthers picks are nice, of course, but they are not enough to fill all the holes he created with his cuts and trades. Some of the 'inexpensive" moves need to pay off, and so far, his record in that area is miserable also. I don't troll. That is my honest opinion of this situation.
A child can llight a match and burn down the house. It takes skill to rebuild it. But what I also said is that Poles got very lucky when the Texans won their final game on the final play.

He has been recovering from a quad injury about 7 weeks ago and just now returning to practice. Another thing I like about him is that he’s built to cover tall WRs.
He is 6-3 with a 40-inch vertical.
if you want to compare, Poles could have drafted Raimann to fix the right tackle problem in 2022 instead of V. Jones. Or he could have gotten Abe Lucas. Then draft Jalen Carter in 2023.
This year, he could have gotten Downs or Dell instead of Scott.
So, there you have 3 draftees by Colts that are better than what Poles got. Closer to home, you could do same exercise with Lions rookies 2022-23.

Read what I already wrote to MP. He’s been injured. My eyes still work — don’t need caps.
