How to Save Justin Fields and the Bears Makes a Lot of Sense

Yeah, it was not a very good article - I agree.  But the point is that it is extremely difficult to acquire a great franchise QB.  Today we are going to face a QB1 that people rate as being 2nd tier (or even worse), Jared Goff.  He too was a 1st overall pick of the entire NFL draft, and yet another one who never lived up to his draft expectations.  You and I have both watched over 60 seasons of these guys who are like this - or even downright busts.  I'm convinced that there is a part of this process (getting a great QB1) that is just blind luck.  The all time great Tom Brady comes out of the 6th round.  And guys like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes are passed over in the draft and are not taken... while the guys drafted ahead of them were not as good.

If this was easy, then every one of the 32 NFL teams would have great franchise QBs.  Of course they don't.  It's extremely hard to get this position right.  It's not just a Bears thing.  It's an NFL thing.
