Well....seeing as how there are a bunch of wide receivers making that, or a little more...yeah. Tim Patrick, Michael Thomas, Brandin Cooks, MVS, Tyler Boyd, Allen Lazard, Jakobi Meyers, Curtis Samuel, Russell Gage....all those dudes are making around $10 mill a year.
Your view on Mooney has been skewed since the beginning and your view on what receivers get paid in this league is clearly off as well.
I find it easier and cheaper to get a mid round WR on a rookie deal for 4 years as a #3 WR than paying 10 million on Mooney who's been inconsistent.
We already have that. I am waiting to see how Tyler Scott finishes the season and hoping he’s good enough to replace Mooney.

Tyler Scott has flashed some talent. Prior to last night's Panthers' game he had 17 targets and 9 receptions for a season total of 77 yards and no TDs. Mooney has 34 targets and 22 receptions for 321 yards and a TD. D.J. Moore has 70 targets and 52 receptions for a season total of 796 yards and 5 TDs (all of these stats are not including last night's game).
I agree with you, that we need to see how these WRs finish the season. But right now D.J. Moore is 6th in the entire NFL in receiving yards (LINK). Mooney is 68th in the NFL receiving yards. FWIW, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is 86th in the NFL with 272 yards so far. Tyler Scott is 213th in the NFL.
We should revisit this at the end of the season and see how these numbers change. JSN had a big game last week and had the game winning TD against the Browns. I expect his numbers will escalate in this last half of the season. I don't expect Scott to exactly explode in the second half of this season but I do think he could get more targets and do better. He has only had the 9 receptions so far. Not much you can make of that.
