That’s not any news to me, dude. I saw it as a low risk/potential high reward opportunity.
Show me a post where you were asking for Poles to trade for Ridley in the summer of 22. Not that it would have been a good idea, but I just don't believe you were actually doing that.
Yeah, I was actually doing it. But it wasn’t summer. It was December 19, 2022 on a thread entitled “Tony Dungy interview…” You can use the search function to find it.

David, you complained to high hell about spending a few million on Leatherwood who was a young, healthy, available, recent-1st round draft pick. That was the classic "low risk/high reward " opportunity too.
Ridley was out of the league with no guarantee of return at the time.
Seriously?
The difference is obvious. Ridley had already PROVEN that he’s capable of playing at a very high level. Leatherwood had already PROVEN that he SUCKS. It was $6 million that could have been given to a player who had a good track record. Jags got Ridley for a couple low draft picks. Poles could have done what Jags did. He had a whole batch of draft picks.

Ridley has also PROVEN that he was INDEFINITELY SUSPENDED.
Signing him would have been a fireable offense right there.

Ok, you said "summer of 22", not me, but either way...so you were banging on the table for the Bears to trade for a guy who had already been traded. He was traded at the deadline in 22. Get your story straight dude. Just admit you're full of it on this one and move on. And also, I'm not going to use the search function to try to PROVE YOUR CLAIM...thats your job.

LOL. Did the Jags GM get fired for signing him? No.

And before he proved he was indefinitely suspended he proved he needed time away from the game when he left the Falcons for his "mental health". But sure...we all would have been cool with Poles going after him...especially David...

Well, I posted December 19, 2022 that I would have liked Poles to do the trade. I DID look up the post with the search function. He was suspended for all of 2022, so the risk is the same in any month of 2022. I was wrong about it being in summer. Not a lie. Just bad memory — wait til you are 77 years old, friend!

Except he was already traded on Nov. 1 of 22. So you were a month and a half late on that one. My father in law is 77...he can remember conversations he had with people when he was 8. I don't want to hear excuses!! LOL
Either way that trade would have done nothing to help Fields at that moment...which was the goal of the Claypool trade.

Your father in law is fortunate. Not many people can do that.
True, it would not help in 2022, but the Jags were planning for 2023. It would be nice to have Ridley with the Bears this season instead of the Jags.

I'm just hoping the Bears can bring in a stellar WR this coming draft. I'm also hoping for an absolute stud center drafted in the 2nd round.
