Bears Tell Chase Claypool They're Done. Want a 5th or 6th DP

I do not need a history of Bears vs. Seahawks historical records. I have been a fan of both teams for a LONG time. Whatever happened before Poles arrived is pretty irrelevant to what I am talking about. Seahawks won 7 games in 2021. Bears won 6 games.
I would say those teams were about equal in playing ability. So, then what did they do to improve in 2022? Poles did a complete tear down, getting rid of some good football players in order to get $100 million cap space and the #1 draft pick. You are damn right that John Schneider didn’t do that. He is too smart for that. What he did do is trade his two future Hall of Fame players (Wilson and Wagner) while they still had some value. He got some good, young players out of that, and even got back Wagner this year.

Lions did something similar with their franchise QB. They didn’t just trade for Goff. They got two first round picks and a third round. I will agree with you on one point: they sucked for years previously. However, doesn’t really matter how Poles compares to their GM from years ago. He may be better than the Lions GM in 2017. Who cares? What matters is how well he is competing now against GMs since he got the job. That is why I am focused on the 2021-2023 period.

Calvin Ridley was OUT OF THE LEAGUE last year and the year before that. He's 29 years old and he hasn't been "lighting it up", he's had 2 good games...the other 3 have seen him go for 40 or less yards per game. Thats "lighting it up"? Oh...and Poles couldn't have "taken a chance on him this summer" because the Jags traded for him last season...when he was serving a suspension for gambling.

No receiver lights it up every game. He is on pace for 1,132 yards and 75 receptions. Plus, they got him on a Poles-like cheap contract. It was summer 2022 that I was asking for Poles to get him.  I have watched a couple of their games this year.  He is running very well.

So you wanted Poles to trade for a guy who was suspended INDEFINITELY by the NFL at the time. Seems like a great idea that wouldn't have brought out the pitch forks from every fan. Ridley was suspended in March of 22...so I think you're full of it when you say you were asking for Poles to get him "in summer of 2022"...CAUSE HE WAS FREAKIN SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY!!!! The dude hadn't played a game since Oct. 4, 2021...but in the summer of 22, while he was serving a suspension of undetermined length, you wanted Poles to trade for him. Come on dude...
