Wrong time-frame. I am talking about 2021 season to 2023 season.
so cherry picking, got it.
No, you got nothing. We are talking about Poles results compared to other GMs who went into rebuild mode after the 2021 season to now (LIONS, Jags, Seahawks).

Why do you keep bringing up the Jags and Seahawks?
I already posted that the Jags have been at it since 2008 and only now they are looking like a good team. The Seahawks are constantly coasting. They lost to the Rams and GB, beat the Giants and barely survived against the Panthers. Sure they beat your Lions so that must be why you put them on a pedestal.
At your age I am surprised you can't let shite go.

Det hasn't been building that roster since Poles got here, again cherry picking. What Chicago and their GM/HC are doing has 0 correlation to other teams. Its a bad football ignorant take. Det isn't going into "rebuild mode" by getting goff. that's not rebuilding. They were never "built" to even try and rebuild. They were a 6 win, 3 win and 5 win team leading up to 2021. That's not "rebuilding" that's we are bad and are going to continue to be bad.
that also means they are set up w/multiple years of high draft picks setting themselves up before their "rebuild". Terrible take.

The bottom line is W-L record compared to Bears in 2022 and now 2023. Go check it. Seahawks are playing without both starting tackles. They are not there with the 49ers/Eagles yet, but have improved their roster a hell of a lot more than Bears in this time-frame.
Except for Lawrence, the Jags have done it more with FA and trades than the draft. I was BEGGING Poles this summer to take a chance on Calvin Ridley. Jags got him for practically nothing, and he is lighting it up with the Jags. Instead, Poles traded #32 pick for Claypool.

Seahawks recdord from 22 and 23, cherry picking again I see. 2011 was the last time the Seahawks had back to back losing seasons. 2011, 2019 and 2022 were the only times they had less then 10 wins, 19 and 22 were 9 and 7 wins. You really trying to act like the Bears and Seahawks are in the same place? Like the Seahawks tore it all down and were trying to start from scratch?
Do you purposefully go out of your way to ignore reality? The Bears have had 2 winning seasons in that same time frame. 19 and 20 were .500 seasons Seahawks and Det were not in the same position as the Bears, stop being obtuse. Even if they were all equally bad, that wouldn't mean they were bad for the same reasons, and their rosters all needed the same changes, and the teams were all in the same position to deal with it.
Seahawks have had the same coach w/means the same system in place for years, their GM has been there forever also. What does that have to do w/a brand new GM and HC, both rookies in their jobs have to do w/Carroll and Schneider who have a decade + experience just in their jobs w/Sea? To act as if they are in the same area is gross negligence. Det has a new GM/HC, but Campell had been an interm head coach and an assistant HC for over 5 years before that, his experience is greater than that of Flus; and that roster did not need a complete breakdown like the Bears did. The roster wasn't as much of an issue as poor coaching; you see that b/c after Campbell left that's when it all went south for them.

I do not need a history of Bears vs. Seahawks historical records. I have been a fan of both teams for a LONG time. Whatever happened before Poles arrived is pretty irrelevant to what I am talking about. Seahawks won 7 games in 2021. Bears won 6 games. I would say those teams were about equal in playing ability. So, then what did they do to improve in 2022? Poles did a complete tear down, getting rid of some good football players in order to get $100 million cap space and the #1 draft pick. You are damn right that John Schneider didn’t do that. He is too smart for that. What he did do is trade his two future Hall of Fame players (Wilson and Wagner) while they still had some value. He got some good, young players out of that, and even got back Wagner this year.
Lions did something similar with their franchise QB. They didn’t just trade for Goff. They got two first round picks and a third round. I will agree with you on one point: they sucked for years previously. However, doesn’t really matter how Poles compares to their GM from years ago. He may be better than the Lions GM in 2017. Who cares? What matters is how well he is competing now against GMs since he got the job. That is why I am focused on the 2021-2023 period.

If you don't need a lesson, why would you even think of comparing the two, other than creating a dishonest comparison? No they were not about equal in playing ability, they were never close. Again that is completely dishonest.
They got rid of a qb that wasn't working for them, got draft capital in return and got a capable qb. How does compare to the Bears in any shape way or form? The Bears at no time had a qb they could trade for picks + another qb.
You are going out of your way to create comparisons of teams that are not comparable to create an argument that is at best dubious. Is this what university life has taught you? That you can manipulate information and people are expected to just believe it? Doesn't work in the real world.
That's a good point too. The Bears are the polar opposite situation now. So much inexperience everywhere you look. We have a first time GM, HC, both coordinators were new - and we had 30 new players on the roster this season. San Francisco not only has Shanny but they have incredible talent everywhere. I just keep thinking how we get from where we are to where a team like SF is (not just SF but the upper tier teams in the NFL).
The 49ers and Eagles traded draft picks for established stars McCaffrey and AJ Brown. They were both great today. That’s contrary to Poles “build through the draft.” Claypool notwithstanding. Unfortunately, he’s not very good at drafting. Maybe your hope that he can learn from his mistakes will happen in 2024. The Lions have also beaten him in both the draft and free agency. Compare their rookies to Poles rookies. Or the Seahawks. Or Jags. There are reasons why these teams have significantly improved since 2021.
You're basing this off of all of two drafts? The first one resulting in 4 starters for the team? Dude...

He's really working overtime to fit his narrative. While the Bears/Niners were in similar issues 5-10 years ago, they were most definitely not in 2019, 2020 and 2021. And again, same HC/GM for far longer than the Bears 2 new ones.
No, you got nothing. We are talking about Poles results compared to other GMs who went into rebuild mode after the 2021 season to now (LIONS, Jags, Seahawks).
Lions have had top 10 picks since 2019, dude. But sure...lets analyze those years.
In 2021 they had the 7th overall pick. Top 10...you better get an impact guy. They did, Penei Sewell. Their second round pick that year was a bit player his rookie year, didn't play last year at all, and has all of 1 tackle so far this season. The only other one from that draft worth mentioning is the 4th rounder, A-man-ra.
In 2022 they had the SECOND and TWELFTH overall picks(they traded their second first-round pick (No. 32), a second-round pick (No. 34) and a third-round pick (No. 66) to the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 12 pick and a second-round pick (No. 46). At 2 they took Aidan Hutchinson...who somehow didn't go 1 overall. Congrats. At 12 they took Jameson Williams...yeah...not that great Bob. The only other one worth mentioning from that draft is James Houston who they took in the 6th round.
This year the jury is obviously still out, but their best picks are probably their 2 second rounders...not the 2 first rounders.
As Ric pointed out...the Lions have been in rebuild mold forever. Seriously, they've been in rebuild mold since 2018.
