I hope this is just some clickbait BS and I was hooked in like a fool. But right now, I have a really bad feeling about it.

Wow. I wonder just what the heck Williams was into or did? How did such a promising season get to this low point? The McCaskey family will be sooooo embarrassed by this. Their new facility raided by the authorities. If Eberflus tries to do his usual spin doctor stuff on this. I'd can him now. It's not his fault (I guess) if Williams is involved in criminal acts at Halas Hall... but wow, don't try to spin-doctor THIS like the other stuff.

This failure is the product of a poorly run sports franchise. Just drafting a new QB won't change anything. Personally, I believe there is zero chance a new QB will succeed here. Zero. Williams has a lawyer and is stating nothing nefarious was going on, no police were involved, his house wasn't raided, and he is not being investigated. My guess is it's bs clickbait and people bit.

Just today I told a workmate that The Bears have never had a quarterback pass for 4,000 yards in a season and he couldn't' believe it? Chicago is the only team in the NFL not to have one? Even the bloody Texans who have been around for a quarter of the time as The Bears have one and there organization is the same age as our quarterback. If it was a person it would just now be able to buy a beer and The Bears are over 100 yrs old. Let that sink in.

The guy who posted the original tweet posted the following "I stand behind my sources" tweet" and since then has been deleting tweets and backpedaling.

When I posted on this thread or the other thread about Williams and said if it isn't legit, he will get his ass sued off. Well, it looks like he will probably get it sued off.

Dude could be having a breakdown mentally, emotionally or physically. Or it could be the rumored legal issues, but I doubt it. I have a basic rule of thumb, with those types of rumors, wait until it all comes out to have an opinionm

From what I am seeing out of Getsy, he is repeating last season. Trying to reinvent Fields as a pocket passer. I am not trying to defend Fields here. Or say that he is out franchise QB. Just saying that Fields is not a conventional NFL QB. He has his strengths and weaknesses just as any other player does. We need an offense that will play to his strengths and try to minimize his weaknesses. Then in the offseason you evaluate everything and everyone and make hard decisions.

But what we have seen so far is not anything remotely creative or imaginative. And the long hard decisions that get made this offseason should start with the coaching staff. Do we draft a QB in 2024? Sure if that is what Poles sees as a need. But maybe we need a decent coaching staff before we ruin another QB, WR etc. Because IMO that is all we are really good at.

Yep, and it's clear that he isn't going to succeed in a pocket-based scheme like Getsy has been trying to run. Fields is a bottom-5 NFL starter in that.

It's also very clear that Bears used Philadelphia and Hurts as a template this past offseason. They thought Fields would make the leap, or at "a leap", Hurts did with a better OL and better weapons. Obviously, that hasn't panned out at all.

I posted in another thread that I have been following the CHGO Bears videos/podcasts religiously for months now and Hoge/Carm have been reporting since OTAs that Fields was having some struggles. It's fair to criticize both the coaching staff for pounding a square peg into a round hole for this long (something Nagy did for YEARS) and to criticize Fields for not picking up the scheme better.

If there's any chance to "fix" or salvage Fields, the template has to be LAMAR JACKSON. He can become a better pocket passer over time. It's not gonna just happen all at once like it did with Hurts.
