It never occured to be before I watched that video, that changing Fields' footwork could be one factor in this.

It never occurred to be before I watched that video, that changing Fields' footwork could be one factor in this.

Me either. Is that a huge factor? Maybe...IDK. But he did make a compelling case to switching back, although he also said that most NFL coaches are doing the same thing.

It was interesting to hear him pour cold water on the idea that Fields lacks weapons. I never bought that.

I really don't think it is possible to separate the performance of the players and the performance of the coaching staff. If Fields has an issue with mechanics and the OC has issues with developing an offensive game plan and play calling, how can you tell if a bad play is the fault of the QB, the fault of the OC, or is it both?

Oh man, what a dumpster fire.

It sounds like the coaches are just not using the talent well. It is a problem that has many factors. That is my own takeaway on all of this.

Until to realize that at least one of those supposed weapons couldn't be bothered to learn the playbook. And others are lining up incorrectly and running other receivers routes.

He's overly high on Kmet and Claypool. Even last year Kmet went down on first contact way to often. And Claypool had a yr in Pitt that he is referring to, which didn't mean anything to them as they worked to remove him from the roster, the bears are finding out why now. Physical tools are there, mental tools are not.

How do you properly use talent that doesn't learn the playbook, and finds a way to line up incorrectly and runs the wrong routes?

Could be that the coaches aren't capable of teaching, but how hard is it to study a playbook?

i am just trying to get my head around it all. Finding the problems here is just like peeling an onion. It has many layers and it makes ya cry.
