I agree with your post there, MP. All of it... I get what you are saying. But the support of a QB predates Poles and Fields. I know you know that. LOL, the only reason I toss this out there is because it really frustrates me. This situation (having enough offense to support our QB) should have been in place anyway - before Fields got here. I'm not talking about perfect everything. No NFL QB gets "perfect" everything, obviously. Warren needs to fix this coaching staff and direct Poles to put a good OL and WR corps out there for the next guy. Wright was a good first step. The other 4 and the depth players there. Again, it doesn't have to be perfect but it needs to be better before you trot a new fuzz-faced kid out there to get killed... and have WRs who can actually LEARN the playbook and run good routes. I was stunned by Claypool's admission that he was still "out there" not knowing a screen call from a run play - as far as what HE is to do on the plays. SMH. Let's get this fixed for the new guy.

And I know we don't even know how high up the post-season firings will go yet. That obviously complicates things. But that is Job-1 in my eyes.

We say that now but...Emery, Trestmas, Pace, Fox, Nagy, Poles, E-flaus would all be data points about how difficult it is.

Looks to me he is more lawyer than football exec. I don't see a lot of staff building on his resume. I think he was brought in to get a stadium done. Until I see otherwise, he's a lawyer version for Ted.

Could be.  We will see.  But I do believe he is a solid executive.  Look what he did for the Big 10.  And those other career executive jobs required him to build great executive teams who know their area of expertise.  I'm not saying for him to fire Poles (LOL, not yet anyway).  But he seems sharp enough to understand the problems here - and bring in the professionals to fix those problems as needed.  In contrast do you remember the search committee that got us Poles?  It included people like Tanesha Wade, the Bears' senior vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Bill Polian, George McCaskey
and Ted Phillips.  Other than Polian the others are not very impressive.  I do believe Warren is more than just a lawyer.  But hey, we will soon know.
