This is an indictment against the Chicago Bears organization

Here is the best tweet I've seen so far on the subject.

There is a huge chance that the next QB we draft, probably next season, pulls an Eli on us. Entirely possible.

But it's the Bears.
We usually do this after 6 weeks but this year it's a bit early.
So much fun ain't it? 

Smith is a blowhard and spouting out of his ass in much of this segment. But he's not wrong. Hoge on CHGO had a partial breakdown of the game yesterday, and w/out question he said that Fields has plenty of fault. But he also said so did Getsy. Flus apparently also said that there were issues, at least on one play, where the WR's didn't have the correct spacing. I guarantee if you watched last week and this week, you saw more than a handful of plays were the spacing of the WR/TE's and the routes looked wrong, 2 guys in the same area running the same routes is either bad play, bad design and possibly both. So there is plenty of blame on this O, and it goes well beyond Fields. Smith also pointed out, and the other 2 on the show w/him agreed, that the reality is CC isn't a difference maker, nor is Mooney, it's just Moore.

Smith apparently is a big Steeler fan and thought they let CC go to soon and didn't understand it but has since changed his mind on him. We HAVE to stop over valuing the talent on this roster as fans. The team is 0-2 and it's more than the qb, and more than the playcalling. The entire roster is full of mid, replacement level talent and that is how you, very likely become 0-3, and even more likely 0-4. It's a bad roster. 

A common thing you hear from everyone talking about Fields is that he's gotten slower, that he isn't playing like himself and it's to robotic and he's not seeing what is going on. This dude is in information overload. Hoge actually points out that there are plays where he's correctly reading and adjusting the plays before the snap, and there are times he's making the correct read post snap. It's not that he cannot, but he cannot consistently. 

Flus again today defended that screen that led to a pick 6; if you don't think that this is on the coaching also you are lying to yourself. It's not just Fields, the entire thing has gone tits up ala Trestmans 2nd year. Hoge comes to the realization that it's hard to believe what is happening to Fields right now would have happened in Miami w/Mike McDaniel, and questions how he wasn't even interviewed for the Bears job. Even Atl got brought up b/c there they are actually trying to run the ball and be smash mouth.

I think it was yesterday on one of the post games someone brought up before the season to Flus or Getsy asking what the identity of the O was going to be. They responded, paraphrasing, smashmouth running. Is that what they call what this? Does anyone watching the Bears games look at what is going on w/the O on Sundays smashmouth? I think everyone that has watched the Bears for the last 20 years, let alone 30, 40, 50+ years knows what smashmouth running looks like.

These MF's don't know what they are doing, they don't know how to implement what they want or say. Don't you have to run to be a smashmouth running team? Don't you have to have an OL full of bulldozers destroying the DL and LB"s to have that? The only thing getting smashed on this O, is the O.
