+1 It will be interesting to watch how high up the firings go after the season ends. Do you just jettison your coordinators or do you do a clean sweep and let the new HC bring in "his guy" (draft or FA) at QB? I know it's extreme to fire an entire coaching staff after 2 seasons. But I think President/CEO Kevin Warren needs to keep all options on the table. If he looks at Eberflus and believes in him, then fine. But Warren strikes me as a sharp guy who is not afraid to make bold moves to rebuild the franchise - not just the team but the entire franchise. If he looks at Eberflus and does not believe he has the gears to get the team where it needs to go - then I could see a clean sweep at the end of this season. Not saying it WILL happen, but surely Warren will be ruthless in considering how to fix the franchise. I think Poles is safe. But after Poles I figure anything could happen.
You have too. This whole we draft a previous regime QB and try to force that QB with a new HC/OC hasn't worked with us with Trubisky or Fields. Ryan Pace should of never been allowed to draft Fields in the first place.
If we end of worse or the same record as last year. You have to start fresh with a GM/HC/OC. You need to go offense first. Poles shouldn't be safe either with his horrible draft/fa choices.
Unless something changes dramatically, this coaching staff should be shown the door.
Marry your new coaching staff to a new QB and stop trying mismatch them. Link them together.
Poles needs to fire them all and reset the HC, OC, and QB positions
Poles will get a second chance to hire an HC if Eberflus is fired (and not saying he will be fired).
Why? He hired all these coaches, didn’t he? He brought in all these “meh” free agents and lost dogs with his $100 million, didn’t he? He has done nothing to deserve a second chance.
Poles isn't getting fired guys. Barring an epic Emery/Trestman meltdown.
But yeah Flus/Getsy/Williams looks like an epic fail and are the hot seat going forward.

Yes, and all these epic fails were hired by Poles. What does that say about his job performance?
Add his decisions in drafting and free agency.
I didn’t say he’d get fired — only that he deserves it. In fact, his fingerprints are all over this mess more than anyone.
Just being realistic here. He's the GM in year 2 of a rebuild with a failing QB he didn't draft.
Changing coaches is no big deal, happens all the time. Changing QBs requires a lot of capital and a fair amount of luck.
Poles didn't draft Fields so he isn't gonna get the blame for this debacle. Fields had wide open guys all over the grass today and he managed only a 55% completion rate, 200 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, and 2 Fumbles. Woof....that's beyond bad. That's sub-Mitch bad.
I fully agree Getsy isn't getting the best out of this team with his awful play calling but ultimately Fields just blows. He actually looks SLOWER and WORSE than he did as a rookie.
Name me one single QB who regressed in his 3rd year and still went on to become a franchise starter. Name just one. No matter who his coach was.

If Poles gets another chance. It just shows why this franchise is doom to fail. The man hit the jackpot. Up and coming QB, 100+ million in cap space and the #1 overall pick yet here we are doing worse than last year.
If you cleaning house. You clean house including him.

I agree that Poles isn’t responsible for Fields. However, he IS accountable for hiring these coaches and nearly all the other starting players. Plus, it was his decision to keep Fields instead of drafting a QB with his #1 pick. That is starting to look like another mistake. So, why should we trust him to continue in this job?

Although Poles didn't draft Fields, he has a duty and a responsibility to hold Fields to the fire like everyone else on the team.
listening to multiple post games. 2 had valid points. CHGO the annoying fat one to paraphrase "This will continue to happen in Chicago b/c the Bears never have a conducive environment to develop a qb." Why? b/c there is no consistency on the team, no GM/HC/OC is around long enough to build an O that works long enough to allow them to draft and develop a qb into that system. It's constant turnover on all parts. GM turnover, HC turnover, OC turnover, a qb is always brought in to try and save the failing regime, and it fails and the new GM and staff don't want any part of the qb and look to bring in their own.
espn 1000 post post game, think it was Jason McKey? "No defenses have to worry about anyone on the Offense, outside of DJ Moore." You can cry and bitch and insist that this team has good WR's and weapons, and a good enough OL but reality constantly says different. The OL, when the team needs it to hold up, or get push, doesn't. CC wasn't good in Pitt that's why they traded him away. Mooney isn't a difference maker that teams have to worry about, that's why he constantly disappears in entire games. Fans over rate their team's players. We do it to, everyone insisted ARob was going to light it up w/a good qb, instead he disappeared in Chicago after Trubisky, and when he went to another team. He wasn't a difference maker #1 WR like we thought. Same goes for the group now. Moore is the only one that teams have to worry about; and it shows up on film. It's easy to stop 1 guy. Brax had no business being handed the LT job w/out competition, Jenkins had no right being handed the LG spot knowing his injury history; and knowing that history, Whitehair had no business being the starting C if he was the primary backup for OG. Everyone over rated the talent on this team; it is a sub .500 roster and that's not just b/c of the QB.
Hoge and Jahns called out Getsy also, Just started listening to them. They mentioned that the goalline screen at the end of the game had no business being called, and yet TB sniffed it out. that means something was giving the play call away, an OL or another player lining up a specific way, something in how the call is made, something. But they shouldn't have known that screen was coming, bc that screen should have never been called. IMO that is on Getsy, from the sounds of it, GB knew what was going to happen before the snap also. His playcalling is laughably predictable.
Outside of Moore, the only guy that shows potential to create problems for teams is RoJo and he can barely get 5 touches let alone 15-20. Fields is failing, likely ruined regardless of what he could have been. Next offseason is a new rebuild. Not sure how this coaching staff makes it through the season let alone the offseason. The entire makeup of this team is a mess.
btw MP, Big Ben Rothlisberger had a terrible 3rd year compared to his first 2. I remembered b/c there was talk of him being on a throw limit of under 35 for them to win; and his 3rd year they were trying to open up pass that. There are others that had small dips/slides but nothing quite like Big Ben.
