This one's definitely on Fields imo. Stares down his receivers, doesn't seem to see the field, too many inaccurate passes as always... He's not looking like the face of the franchise if you ask me.
Sorry to say that, but he's got two more months to show he's really got it. If he hasn't improved A LOT by Thanksgiving, Poles needs to put his foot down and look for our next QB in the draft. Enough already. This is embarrassing.
again, this is on Poles. You hire a DC to be your HC, when you have a qb on a rookie deal that could be your franchise. Then you don't go all in to fix the OL and WR's and TE's, and actually do the opposite by trying to fix the def; b/c you have to do what the HC needs, and he's a DC.
Mayfield in TB is why I have been pounding the table for OL and WR's. You saw it w/Alex Smith in KC, Stafford in LA. Average, career meh's go on and have success on teams where the O has a strong OL and strong WR's and all of a sudden they look legit.
Now you have ruined a 2nd qb for the same reasons, GM drafts qb for a DC turned HC, and decided to put the bare minimum of FA and draft capital to the O. It's not Flus' fault that he shouldn't have been hired. It's not Fields fault he's dealing w/an incompetent OC w/a team full of 1 legit starting WR and depth pieces, and an OL that was from the very beggining flawed. Your Center cannot be the swing OG; especially when one of those guards always missing games b/c of injury.
The GM built this mess, he has to own it.
As for Fields, he is now on the brink, or actually past it, of being worse than Trubisky; that's saying something.

Dude, I know you love to hate on Poles but this isn't his fault. He didn't draft a tailback to play QB, Ryan Pace did.
Fields wasn't "ruined". He just sucks, that's all. He's not an NFL passer. All he can do is throw screens and scramble. Baker Mayfield, a guy on his 4th team, way outplayed him.
I was as critical as you could be last week about the gameplanning/playcalling, the pass protection, etc. The OL was much better today (except Brax), Fields had lots of chances, oh and BTW Moore is a freakin stud. And with all that Fields still looked like ass.
I am watching the Cards game as I type this--a team clearly tanking and Josh Dobbs, their designated tank QB, is outplaying Fields by a mile.
Occam's Razor says the simplest explanation is most likely to be accurate. And the simplest is that Fields isn't going to become a long-term NFL starter. He's just not a good enough NFL passer.

he also didn't put weapons or OL around that rb. He never tried.
the ol was a mixed bag today, better then last week, but still not great. having a stud, isn't the same as having multiple.
I'm w/you on Fields, he's done. He's absolutely ruined, he doesn't trust the OL, he doesn't trust the WR's, or the OC; and now i think you are seeing none of them trust him either.
But again, everyone said all the same things about Alex Smith and Mayfield, but when you surround them w/actual NFL talent, it's amazing how it all comes together really quickly. At no point did Poles ever try it, it was doomed to fail from his first FA and draft. Tired of me using those 2, Geno Smith, Stafford, Goff, Wentz. All those guys that aren't all pro/future hof'rs all showed capable when they had a GM that spent time and effort and capital on the offense.
Instead w/have Pace going all in on Mac, terrible trade that ruined the team for years to come. and now Poles hiring Flus, a DC, and now has to spend 2 FA's and drafts trying to build a def, and doing a shit job of it. Pace/Poles failed the qb and the team by not understanding that the def doesn't matter in todays NFL. The QB matters, and that means the OL and the QB's weapons matter.
