Well as far as a WR goes I'd have rather had Cooper and not just because hindsight is 20/20. He was clearly the more versatile, better prepared, and also better overall WR but he was gone. I just hope Pace wasn't oversold on an upside that may never come. I think about Cordarelle Patterson as a similar WR who just can't seem to produce as a WR although he's a great KR.
We'll see how it goes but as far as KW goes the clock is ticking.
Patterson is a comparison name I thought of too. He's quite literally too dumb to learn the playbook so is basically just a return man. White is supposedly an intelligent guy so what's his excuse? Is he lazy? Overconfident? Coddled?
Lets also keep in mind that White doesn't play STs and Patterson was a late 1st rounder so we will have a way bigger bust on our hands if he doesn't get his shit together soon.
At this point I have no answers either other than if I'm the HC and my QB can't use him yet because he doesn't trust him yet then he sits until my QB does trust him.
Well there's no substitute for experience ... so throw em all in the deep end and make them learn how to swim . If you look at how White played in college he was a frickin wildman . I'm sure he still has that in him , and tho it may take a while to show up , I believe ones he's 'comfortable' we'll see it - and we'll all be happy . Same goes for many of these young players we have .

I think most of us tend to believe (hope?) that is the case.

In White's case it is difficult because if he has had a year plus to view tape and discuss the playbook with the coaches surely he should have the routes memorised in his head, not necessarily having run them as he was out pretty early in last year's OTAs.

yes, that is true. Which makes it harder to hold out hope. But I'm not very bright....

This is the biggest gripe I have at the moment. I would have thought by now we'd be past WR 101, the route tree, and how to hang on to a football. We lost one year of productivity to his shin injury and it would be very disappointing to lose yet another to his still being unprepared when by now he shouldn't be.
I like that he's big, fast, and strong and the good kid part too but he was drafted where he was because he was thought to have the skills of a #1 WR. I don't expect that overnight but I do expect him to be a solid #2 and very productive and nothing so far tells me his play has all been one huge bluff. That makes no sense at all.
