I live 2 miles from a salmon river, and am the worst fisherman in the county!
I am 100% sure Fields will pass better, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he meets my standard. If he plays well, opposing QB plays BETTER, and the Bears lose, I won’t be celebrating.
Getting back to Fields, I really believe he will step up his passing game this year. If we lose it probably won't be due to him. And I'll bet if we win it will have a lot to do with Field's presenting a dual threat that some teams can't stop - certainly not him as a dual-thread AND ALSO with a lethal running attack. That's kindof like having a triple-threat offense. Fields will do his part. If the offense can even score 3 or 4 points per game more than last year, that would put our offense in the top-8 or 10 of the NFL this year. Add some O weapons in 2024, and hey, the sky's the limit for the offense. But the D was dead-last in the entire NFL last year in ppg allowed. That unit will undoubtedly be better too... but I keep thinking it's 2024 before it is where it needs to be.
The team should be a lot more fun to watch this year - including watching Fields in his 2nd year in this Getsy scheme.
We have the same hope/expectation for Fields this year.
The Bears and Seahawks will have top-10 offenses but questionable defensive lines. By next year, both teams should be in high gear, if my crystal ball is working ☺️
