NFLNotify indicates that Poles is working the phones to get a UFA edge rusher. They were one of the first news/rumor sources to post that Poles was going to do the trade down of the #1 pick before it happened.
There is a lot of speculation on this going on right now on a lot of social media. The two names I keep hearing are Ngakoue and Houston. I would love to get Ngakoue for a two year deal, with an option for year three. Always assuming that it isn't a cap buster.
My guess is that Poles will sign Justin Houston to a 1 year deal as a stopgap. I would think of it like a Reilly Reiff of Jason Peters type of situation.
Ngakoue has been the popular name for months but he apparently wants a multi-yr deal with a contender. He also is a truly horrible run defender so can function only as a 2nd & long/3rd & long type of situational pass rusher. There's a reason the guy has been on 5 or 6 different teams despite good sack numbers--he totally blows against the run.

Every time I feel like taking the high road (high road ... aka getting all righteous about) on this kind of thing, I try to remind myself about Alonzo Spellman.
