I'm still deciding between two trains of thought (if not more):
+1 And if I'm honest about this, I need to admit that I too go back and forth as to what is best. I can see the pros and cons of the options. But the nagging thought in the back of my head is about how we moved on from Lovie Smith to "get better" but all we did was get worse for the next several years and coaches and GMs. Not better. Worse. I totally supported the move away from Lovie. He was the 3rd winningest coach in Bears history - and the only coach other than Ditka to get us to a Super Bowl. Fast-forward to now and I feel it in my gut that moving on from Fields and Eberflus may end up with a bust QB and a worse HC. I feel it in my bones. My gut feeling is that we have our QB1 who can take us to a SB win... maybe even more than one. Caleb Williams? I just don't feel good about drafting that guy. I don't. And Eberflus seems to be a good HC... he is not here to be a good coordinator but a good head coach.
Maybe we can blow it all up again (dump Fields and the coaches and start over) but in my heart I know it's a bad decision to go that route. If we do I can just see the misery continue here for decades more. But I could be dead wrong about it all too.

Agree. I’m leaning painfully towards picking up Fields 5th year option and playing the FT game, building around him and seeing how the next couple of years play out. If the Bears finish on a high note, I can tolerate Flus staying, but I’m still of the belief that Getsy has to go.

I am soooooooooooooooooooo hoping we spend that top draft pick on Marvin Harrison Jr. Don't roll the dice on one of these 2024 kids. MHJ paired with Justin Fields and DJ Moore and Cole Kmet is so much better than spending that pick on some fuzz-faced kid who is a risk to be a bust.... and no MHJ. I get it. The sexy thing is to draft yet another kid at QB, fire everyone, and start over from scratch. Again.
But that is madness. And we have lived the madness for decades of "fail" here in Chicago. Let's sober up and realize we have some VERY good young/new players and a head coach who has begun to show he can be the guy we need here. Yes, the offense now needs some serious talent added in 2024. The defense got the love in the first year of the rebuild. Next year should be the year we add a Hall of Fame level WR1 to pair up with DJ Moore... and add a rock solid C to anchor that IOL. Watch Chicago shine next year with that happening.
