I’m happy to get you a DE in the second round. They will be there. Once you get past Anderson/Carter, there’s a whole crowd of DL guys and no real standouts, which is why there is no consensus on where they will fall in the draft.
That's simply false.
Carter isn't a DE so stop it. I know you love the guy but there's no way on God's green earth the McCaskeys are signing off on drafting a guy in the 1st round facing a possible jail sentence. You can stop rolling that grenade. It's not happening.
Van Ness and Wilson are both legit top-20 prospects at DE and you fully know that. They have both been mocked there many times and I know you seem to put a lot of stock in mock drafts.
I also noticed you dodged my question from earlier: You got the #1 WR you wanted and the "Trey Lance deal" you wanted....do you have the guts to admit that? Or are you just gonna keep moving the goalposts?
I agree with this... I think the bears could move down and collect even more picks and still get Van Ness or Wilson.

Normally when a trade occurs the Bears is usually the team that gets fleeced with bad trades (like the Mack trade). It's good to see the Bears doing the fleecing. Something tells me that the Bears are not done.

I posted the same on another thread. We know Poles loves to move around and with a deep Dline talent pool Poles can't go wrong and trade down again and grab of of those players, Van Ness or Wilson and move up in the 2 round.
We have 2 legit #2s at WR. Certainly have a #2 and #3. And we haven't even hit the draft yet.
Yeah, EDGE is the most important position that A) lacks a legit talent and B) can't be filled easily in FA.
Unless the draft board falls very unfavorably next month, edge is priority #1 for me. We need EDGE RUSHERS and those are almost impossible to get in any FA.
I like to know who these two are.
Chase has shown nothing since coming here and putting faith in him as a #2 is very untrustworthy.
Mooney hasn't done much here even when Allen Robinson was taking away all his attention. The guy is a great #3 WR but he's not someone I could rely on to be my go to #2.
LOL...Mooney went for over 1K when A-Rob was here...but sure...

I didn’t say DE. I said DL — defensive line. Last I checked,Carter plays on the defensive line. I said that once you get past Anderson/Carter, there’s a whole crowd of guys who fall all over the place. Carter, contrary to what you claimed, will likely be drafted before #9, so I doubt the Bears will even have a chance to draft him, regardless whether he only gets fine/community service for his arrest or how he performs on pro day 3/15.
VN and Wilson are not the only DE who get mocked in the first round. There are several, plus other good ones in second round.
You can go back and read what I said about Trey Lance deal. My preference was the Colts deal for 1,2 in 2023 and 2024 plus Anderson/Carter, and would not trade down lower than #4 unless I get three first round picks (Trey Lance deal). I am, however, not criticizing Poles for not getting either the Colts deal or a Trey Lance deal, because I assume he made the best deal he could get. I never believed that double trade down to #9 was realistic.
I told you what I count as WR1. Again, I am happy to have Moore over Claypool, but he doesn’t meet my standards for WR1 (yet), but conceivably could get there if he and Fields can connect. For now, he’s WR2 and I want a shot at WR1 in second round of draft.
Umm, reading that tweet, is our goal to have a “decent” WR room or an ass-kicking Super Bowl ready WR room?
Just because you want something doesn't mean the circumstances are there to make it happen. Poles can only work with what he has. There is no easy recipe for "Super Bowl ready WR room."
