MP is right...this is a time for celebration. We got the WR1 we've all been clamoring for, got extra draft capital in this draft, AND got a potential top 10 pick in next years draft to boot! Hell of a way to head into next week!
Every player in the league is generally obtained in the draft...
That is my point. If don’t trade for Adams,Diggs,Hill, Brown,Hopkins, etc. then you try to draft one in the first two rounds instead of trying to get lucky in round 4.
No effing way
I REPEAT (and I noticed you dropped Kupp from your list and replaced him with DHop) -- those guys are NOT AVAILABLE.
Hopkins might be but the Cards are high if they think they're getting a 2nd and a 3rd for him and no way anyone is doing that now.
You draft another WR (as a #4 competition guy with Velus) in rd 3-5. Rounds 1-3 are for OL/DL primarily.
Ask yourself these questions as it looks like AR is headed to the Jets. Who would you rather have in the NFCN?
QB:Goff Cousins Love Fields
WR1: St. Brown Jefferson Watson Moore
It's Bears#1 for sure @ QB and Bears#2 @ WR1.
Yeah, I'll take that for yr1 of a rebuild. All YOUNG

You missed the point. I listed that group as examples of WR1 that (except Hopkins) were obtained by trade avenue.
I will gladly sacrifice one of your precious linemen draftees for one shot at a WR1 candidate at the top of the second round. We are just going to have to disagree on that.
I mean Moore is a #1 WR. Sure he isn't at the elite level as those you listed but where else are we going to get a #1 WR without giving up a ton?
No we ain't there yet. We have 1 #1 WR and 2 #3 WRs. Sadly we're keeping Claypool since we spent the #33 overall pick on him.
Now we can focus on getting some Oline around Fields and this offense will look very different compared to last year.
We get WR1 by taking our shot in the draft. That’s where all those guys were obtained. I want Poles to trade up in the second or even into bottom of first round and take his best shot.
So who do we draft that is a better WR than DJ Moore?
This year draft class for WR isn't that good. I'm not against drafting our guys but this was the only way we were going to get a #1 WR this year. We couldn't afford to waste another year of Field's rookie contract on a bunch of nobodies at WR like we did the past 2 years.

Well, the new CBS Sports mock draft has the Bears taking JSN at #9. If that happens, I will be celebrating in the street, while you and MP are eating your hearts out.
It also has Carter going to Seahawks, which is another thing MP says is guaranteed impossible. I would be celebrating that, too, not just as an honorary Seahawks fan, but also keeping Carter from the Lions.

If they can fill Oline and DE in FA I would be ok with JSN pick.
Moore #1 JSN #2 Mooney/Claypool #3
I still think this roster is missing a #2 WR.
Its going to be hard to pass up on one of these pass rushers that will fall at #9. With how bad our defense has been. We really need one. Also going to be hard to pass up on a top O-line prospect as well. Fields needs as much protection as possible.

LOL, I think JSN is off the table for the Bears at #9 after todays developments. They're going edge which is the highest impact position they can't fill in FA and just happens to be stacked in this draft.
I could still see the Seahawks taking Carter--they love "high risk" prospects--and that's fine. Don't think they will but if so hope it works out for them. I just never wanted Carter for us as he's not a "HITS guy". Too many red flags for me. They can sign Jones in FA and be set at DT.
I'm gonna choose to believe in this regime until they show me otherwise and Carter is definitely not a Poles/Flus guy. They have shown so by trading to #9--they don't care about Carter or they would have stayed in the top-4 where you insisted he would go.
We just got the #1 WR you wanted AND a "Trey Lance type of deal". Are you able to be happy about that?

We have 2 legit #2s at WR. Certainly have a #2 and #3. And we haven't even hit the draft yet.
Yeah, EDGE is the most important position that A) lacks a legit talent and B) can't be filled easily in FA.
Unless the draft board falls very unfavorably next month, edge is priority #1 for me. We need EDGE RUSHERS and those are almost impossible to get in any FA.

I like to know who these two are.
Chase has shown nothing since coming here and putting faith in him as a #2 is very untrustworthy.
Mooney hasn't done much here even when Allen Robinson was taking away all his attention. The guy is a great #3 WR but he's not someone I could rely on to be my go to #2.
