No, I would add others like Chase, Kupp, etc. I just gave you that list as examples of guys a tier above Moore. I am very happy to have him over Claypool, but we still need WR1 and an elite slot receiver to be Super Bowl ready in 2024. That’s the target.
+1 One other thing. DJ Moore has had an endless carousel of QBs in his NFL career. Having Fields as his QB could be pretty sweet. Here's who he's had in the past:
147 from Sam Darnold 128 from Cam Newton 115 from Kyle Allen 102 from Teddy Bridgewater 65 from PJ Walker 46 from Baker Mayfield 8 from Taylor Heinicke 2 from Will Grier 2 from Garrett Gilbert 1 from Jacob Eason
Quick look back at Bears history Fields Foles Dalton Mitch Glennon McCown Cutler Orton Rex Stewart Miller
That might be the first list that would look worse than the Bears
David, have a shot of whatever your favorite is and enjoy the moment.
You bitched incessantly here (with good reason) for what you termed a "#1 WR" and you got it. And he's way younger and cheaper than old men like like Evans or DHop or Keenan Allen.
Just enjoy the moment and don't scream at kids to get off of your lawn.
I would rate the top 6 guys on this list as WR1 caliber..
Moore doesn’t make the top 25 list. I am happy to have him over Claypool, but I still want a WR1 and a slot receiver better than Mooney. You can walk on my lawn I don’t care.
Well thats because its a list ranking receivers from last season. If you don't think Moore is a WR1...welp...I don't know what to tell you...
really really, neither make a team worry about them, neither are difference makers. No team goes into a game vs Chicago and goes oooo how do we stop Mooney and Chase. Team got the guy that teams will be scared of, but they need another still that cna take heat of DJ; Chase and Mooney are not those guys. Chase is a depth piece, which is why Pitt drafted his replacement, then traded him to the most wr lacking team in the NFL.
Don't account for Mooney and let me know how that works out for you.
Bears had the #1 pick in the draft, that's how it worked out for teams. He had 1 decent year in 3 and was hurt for a large portion of the previous year; and his 1 good year the Bears were 6-11. He's not a game changing threat teams worry about. He's not even on their radar.
I already said I am happy to have Moore over Claypool. I just don’t consider him WR1 tier along with guys like Jefferson, Adams, Kupp, Diggs, Brown, Chase, etc. that Fields could use to beat them all in a Super Bowl in a couple years. I want a true WR1 and an elite slot receiver like JSN.
Maybe it can all still come out of these Panthers draft picks, but we are not there yet IMO.
I mean Moore is a #1 WR. Sure he isn't at the elite level as those you listed but where else are we going to get a #1 WR without giving up a ton?
No we ain't there yet. We have 1 #1 WR and 2 #3 WRs. Sadly we're keeping Claypool since we spent the #33 overall pick on him.
Now we can focus on getting some Oline around Fields and this offense will look very different compared to last year.
We get WR1 by taking our shot in the draft. That’s where all those guys were obtained. I want Poles to trade up in the second or even into bottom of first round and take his best shot.
Was kind of interested in WR/JSN in first. Adding Moore makes that seem unreasonable depending on how FA shakes out. With two firsts next year maybe we roll with current WR corps and scoop up Marvin Harrison Jr. Next year.
What a haul. Wild to go from constantly trading up and/or giving up assets for defense to stock piling picks and adding firepower to O side. Can't wait for FA next week.
And that first rounder from Carolina could be another top 10 pick...because I can't see them doing great with the lack of offensive talent they have.

SMH...his "1 good year" came when the Bears had who on the other side of him again? But you're right...teams don't need to worry about a guy who can take the top off a defense...

Every player in the league is generally obtained in the draft...

That is my point. If don’t trade for Adams,Diggs,Hill, Brown,Hopkins, etc. then you try to draft one in the first two rounds instead of trying to get lucky in round 4.

Well...we just traded for Moore...who is a WR1 and who was obtained in the draft by the Panthers.
