I see rumor that Texans were already planning to get Jimmy G in FA and trade down #2, possibly to Colts. So if Panthers take Young, Ballard could still save his job if Stroud was their guy all along. Or maybe Irsay just was unwilling to give up a player (Pittman/Buckner) as part of the deal. Too soon to say what the Colts are doing.
I would like Poles to trade some of this stuff he got from the Panthers to get in position to draft JSN, unless he drafts a slot receiver in second round. In my opinion, Mooney playing primarily in the slot is out of position. He should be playing primarily wideout. Claypool can play backup for Moore.
He's already in position to draft JSN...and I won't address your opinion on Mooney cause we've covered that.
I would love that, but I honestly didn’t consider he would do it at #9. He’ll draft a lineman at #9, and we are too far back in the second round to get JSN or probably any of my other slot receivers.
You never understand my position regarding Mooney. My only statement was that I want a BETTER route runner in the slot. BETTER, BETTER, BETTER….that’s the word.

David, have a shot of whatever your favorite is and enjoy the moment.
You bitched incessantly here (with good reason) for what you termed a "#1 WR" and you got it. And he's way younger and cheaper than old men like like Evans or DHop or Keenan Allen.
Just enjoy the moment and don't scream at kids to get off of your lawn.

Houston isn't trading #2 to their division rival. No freakin' way
Ballard is toast unless one of the top-2 takes Levis or Richardson. Even that assumes the Cards won't trade #3. He doesn't get his "day 1 starter" otherwise. He's toast like Ryan Pace was...doomed to pick his successor's QB. He's now the guy leaving the dance without a girl and going home alone. Should have offered more, Chris!
FIRED January 2024
Screw drafting JSN. That's off the table now. You sign OL and DT in FA and draft Edge in round 1. Bears can add another WR in rds 3-5.
Moore -- Mooney -- Claypool is a good WR group plus Kmet TE. I have zero interest in any FA WR or old man trade guy at this point.
Stock the lines in FA and head to the draft. Great work, Ryan! You're already light years better than Pace.
You’re right on that. Texans won’t trade with Colts. You can be sure Ballard isn’t doing anything without checking with Irsay. Poles was asking Colts for more than Irsay was willing to pay. Maybe they are happy with Levis or Richardson. You wouldn’t believe how crazy the fans on the Seahawks forum are about Richardson.
I would rather have JSN than a lineman at #9, but acknowledge that’s a minority opinion.
I would love that move, but I doubt it, this feels like the investment in WR's is done, at least for potential day 1 starters. DJ Moore 1, Mooney/Chase (another traded for player). Sadly it's a room w/a 1 and two 3's instead of a 1, 2 and 3, but Poles invested to heavily in Chase to not have him on the field. Maybe he finds a steal in FA or 3rd day of the draft that can play their way into starting; but it won't be intentional.
DT or Edge in the first for now; at least until we see what happens w/FA.
3 picks in the first 2 rounds is a big deal, then 2 firsts next year and 2 2nds the year after that. Poles doing right now what I screamed for Pace to do for 5 years, use the draft as a lottery, buy as many tickets as you can.
Two 3's? Really?
really really, neither make a team worry about them, neither are difference makers. No team goes into a game vs Chicago and goes oooo how do we stop Mooney and Chase. Team got the guy that teams will be scared of, but they need another still that cna take heat of DJ; Chase and Mooney are not those guys. Chase is a depth piece, which is why Pitt drafted his replacement, then traded him to the most wr lacking team in the NFL.
Not to mention Poles executed the soft-tank season to perfection. Seriously, this doesn't just happen if he had kept the older players to do a band aid to the roster for an 8-win ish season. Poles is a sharp guy. He blew up the roster and yes it was a horrible season. But now we get to watch a great rebuild with young ascending players.

That's why when you tank, you go all out tank mode. Let's not forget Lovie Smith. Without him. The Bears winning a meaningless game would of never landed us this haul and speed up the rebuild the way it did now.
That's why I always say. Its not always a good idea to win a meaningless game.
Outside of giving away the #33 overall pick for Claypool. Poles had a good last year.

I would rate the top 6 guys on this list as WR1 caliber..
Moore doesn’t make the top 25 list. I am happy to have him over Claypool, but I still want a WR1 and a slot receiver better than Mooney. You can walk on my lawn I don’t care.
Smallest midget awards aren't really a flex. Dudes a stud and happy to have him, but him being better then ex Bears should be a given or the trade would be roundly trashed.

Dude is a clear upgrade from anything we've had in the team since Marshal. And they still got 2 firsts and 2 2nds out of it.
They need someone ahead of at least Chase besides DJ though, Chase showed on the field this year why Pitt moved on.
