This is a must lose game... as sad as this is, but I think the Bears are stupid enough to find a way to win this game.
+1 My gut feeling is that the Bears are so clueless this year that they won't even lose properly. How sad is that? This Sunday I will be the San Francisco 49ers #1 fan. And I will croak if the Bears win this one. The problem is that the 49ers are not completely stupid - they will not want to win this one either. Instead of the Super Bowl this year we have the "Draft Pick Bowl" on Sunday. Cmon Bears, with that #2 draft pick. Let the crap fest begin.
I don't think Bears management is dysfunction, just semi-incompetent(Fox). There is a chance that the 49ers might actually tank for the pick. I would not put it past that ownership. If the Bears lose, it will not be because they did not try to win -- which is the way I want it.

I can't believe 7 people voted for us to win this game on Sunday. Sunday, I'm gonna be the 49ers #1 fan. I will crap if the Bears win this game.

I try to crap every day, but I may give it a little extra if the Bears win.

Just short term vs long term vision IMO. I don't think they want any worse for the Bears than we do. They just think the best way to get it is by winning. No matter how many years we don't make the post season and we miss a stud in the draft by only a position or two. Or that our back is against the wall (thanks Pace) on needing a QB this year, ingrained positions are hard to change.
Just a different perspective. I respect everyones position but have done enough strategic planning to know that that position will only hurt us.

If Blaine Gabbert was their starting QB, I would have voted for us to lose and get the better draft pick. I'm sorry, but I just can't root for an arrogant and ignorant POS QB to win at Soldier Field while he's abusing his celebrity spotlight and disrespecting the flag, the anthem, the military, cops and millions of other people. Don't get me wrong, he has the right to do it. No argument there. I just disagree with his actions.
And honestly, is there really a big difference between the second and third pick overall?

These same people will be angry when we miss out on an great player in the draft. And they will have long-forgotten the win over a steaming pile of crap 49er team in December 2016. Hmmmmm. Let's think about this. A draft miss on a franchise quality & possibly elite player - versus being able to puff out our chests for a few hours and crow about beating a 1-win crap team.
I noticed that our Hall of Fame quarterback, Sid Luckman was a #2 overall pick of the draft too. It's an "omen" for sure BIH :-)

I hate Kap for the reasons you mentioned. I could give a damn about the 9ers too. I am not voting for Kap to win. I am voting for the Bears to get better.
They are the only ones in this equation I care about. The rest, I don;t even give any thought to. The dice can fall for them however it falls as long as the Bears get what they need to be better.

That's a good point. Some years it doesn't matter and better players were drafted later. But sometimes it matters very much. A number of the best players ever to play the game have been taken at that #2 spot. Several Hall of Fame players too. Wouldn't it be just like the Bears bad luck to miss out on a great/elite player at #2 and get a bust with their later pick in the draft?
I admit this is a selfish thing on my part. But as a fan, having suffered through the recent crap seasons - and this super crap season in particular - I would kindof like to see us have a shot at an elite player. I really don't even care what position it would be, if we could get a kid that will be elite for us for many many years to come. Maybe even one of those future Hall of Fame guys.
I ask you. Is it better to pass on all of that just so we can say we beat a 1-win 49er team in 2016... a steaming pile of crap team?
Hours after we won that game it would be forgotten by most of us. It would be a meaningless game in a meaningless year. But drafting an elite player who is a rock-solid player for the next 8 or 10 years - wouldn't that be better than the win over the 49ers on Sunday?

I get what you're saying but who says we'd be passing on all that? At least three of the following five players are guaranteed to be there when we draft third overall.
QB Kizer, QB Watson, QB Trubisky, DE Garrett, DE Allen.
