The Bears aren't anything until they decide what they are doing. Explain to me how Pace/Nagy, who are 100% on the hotseat are going to be willing to start a rebuild they won't be around for? YOU wanting them to rebuild, YOU wanting them to be fired doesn't mean THEY want any of that. I'm not even saying you are wrong in theory, they might well need a rebuild, but a GM and HC who don't have secure contracts aren't going to do it. Would you; if you had 1 or 2 years left on your contract w/potentially getting fired next year start a 3 yr rebuild? Hell no you wouldn't.
Unless Nick Foles catches lightning in a bottle for a second time, I don't see how this team is better than 7-9 MAX in 2021. The key members of the defense will be another year older, we still don't have a QB, and Rodgers/Green Bay are still playing at a very high level. Looks to me that the defense will end up being high-average, the offense will again be bottom-10, and we will go 0-2 vs Green Bay. Then Pace & Nagy will get fired and we will get serious about turning over the roster and looking a few seasons down the road rather than just one.
They were ALWAYS going to be around. At 6 wins it was reported they only had to win 1 more game. It doesn't matter what YOU wanted, it's what the team wanted/did. So again, why do you think 2 guys on the hotseat are going to start a rebuild w/their jobs on the line? If you cannot explain that then stop acting like they are going to do it.
They are in win now, that means getting the best available qb and OT in the draft along w/a WR as well as going all in in FA to get a WR OT and probably another WR and TE along w/a DT. They aren't looking at NOT spending money or NOT trying to win next year; that's fantasy land thinking.
