Starting my first thread here on dbpb - Kind of exciting
Rumors are everywhere and like all the time, not all of them hold some truth. Some may, but that is a different Story. I think, that the Fox Pace marriage wasn't one Pace really wanted. A Consultant helped with the search and I imagine Philips and McCaskey sitting there thinking the experience is right, go with it.
Maybe that's what they want to do again, just the other side now. They have some outside help right now, before the MNF game before the bye week. Maybe Pace wants to fire Fox and those above him aren't happy with that idea as of now. Maybe that's why we get help from outside.
I think and hope, that Fox is fired as soon as this season Ends. Eat those 2 years, I don't care.
Hire Kyle Shanahan or Josh McDaniels and let them draft their QB of the future. Marry them and see what happens. This worked for the organization we got Pace from, why not with us? It would be fun to see something like that emerging.
What is the fascination w/having Mcdaniels, dude KILLED a really good Den team. The Bears are already dead, no need to bring him in to beat the horse.
Part of me says you don't want to fire Fox yet, it's 2 years in and firing coaches every 2-3 years is the worst thing you can do; outside of keeping some of his staff. If you fire Fox you likely have to let go of Fangio, or promote him, a competent HC isn't going to want to come in and keep Fangio, even if he is a good DC. The other part of me sees what is happening on the field and thinks that this shit show is beyond just bad players, there is a lack of discipline that is unacceptable, Fox was supposed to come in and bring in some competency to the coaching and he seems to have failed to do that.

I'm not a fan of firing coaches early and often, but it's needed. We can't Keep Fox like we couldn't Keep Trestman.
McDaniels is a OC that knows how to Coach an offense. It's been a Long time ago since he was with the Broncos. Some guys mature and some learn a bit more.

I am more a fan of firing the F'ing McCaskets, but that is just me.

I was excited about the fox hire originally but I'm worn out with him already. I hate listening to him talk, I hate how much he lies about what's going on with the team and I don't think he's very good at managing a game. I would be fine with him getting fired but I'd also be alright with him getting one more year. Loggains can not be the OC going forward though, he's terrible.

If you like McDaniels because of his work in New England, why would you not love Charlie Weis? They both have won 2 SBs as the OC for the Patriots.
IMO both guys excelled at NE because there was/is a great system in place at NE. I think the credit goes more to Kraft and Belichick. Not that either McDaniels or Weis was a bad OC because they are/were both pretty decent OCs. Maybe McDaniels will be a decent HC in the future, but he was terrible as a HC in Denver. Just like Weis sucked at Notre Dame and Kansas.
I just want a proven coach who has good experience in all 3 phases of the game, not a specialist in one. We keep going through this and then having to compensate by looking for someone who makes up the difference. I don't know but it would be nice to have a well rounded coach for once.
