Well I don't see really anyone on that list we were going to draft who is performing any better than Floyd. We weren't likely to draft a S, WR, or RB, and we got a rookie lineman who is performing better than most of the 1st round lineman. We could have used a could CB I guess. Neither Fuller or Porter inspire much confidence but if Floyd turns into a stud next season I could certainly care less about that or any inconsistent performance of his this season.
Hopefully Floyd does become a stud but from his very lack luster performance this season I don't see it. I will say that I have more faith in Floyd being a stud than White being one.
White is a perfect example on why you never draft a WR in the first round. When an undrafted Cameron Meredith who played QB in college can put up better stats than our #7 draft pick you know something is wrong.

Floyd left as junior so he is effectively playing his senior season in the NFL. Think of it as we are getting him one year early. I'm not going to begin to make any judgement on him until of the end of this season and we won't likely get a good idea of his real potential until sometime next season.

Most players leave at the same time so that excuse doesn't hold up. You don't see Joey Bosa not creating pressure...
This is a top 10 pick. No excuses for his performance.
MotM again I can go through and show you great players at every position that came from all sorts of rounds, if not UDFA's. That doesn't mean you rely on it. You take the BPA in each round and hope they work out. Thats how great teams get built.
Meredith is not a game changing WR, he's just a guy.

Bosa was drafted before Floyd. That option didn't exist.

You were saying he was playing his senor year here while I used Bosa as an example.
Floyd shouldn't be this bad. He needs to create pressure like Bosa.
Players rarely develop at the same rate. Bosa might just have a jump on things. In college he might have had better coaches, better physical trainers, or even used more PEDs. There are a lot of different variables that can influence how fast a player develops.
I still don't understand your point though. Bosa was drafted before Floyd because he was seen as a better player. So it's not surprising he is outplaying Floyd. He would likely have been the no. 1 pick had the Rams (or whoever was in that position) not needed a QB.

Point is both are drafted in the top 10.
Point is both were seen better than the rest of the 1st and half of the second.
Floyd also has one of the best DCs to help him develop into Football.
