I'm with paytonisgod, not gonna happen nor should it happen.
Still, if you're looking for HCs the promotion ladder usually starts with coordinators (STeams, O, and D) So you'd probably want to look at the homophobe from Minneapolis Mike Priefer Dave Toub Jim Schwartz Wade Philips George Edwards Sean McDermott

I sure wouldn't want Jim Schwartz. Who would be your #1 choice if you were GM?
Mike Priefer - even though I think he's a homophobic asshole whose world view is back in the 1920s, he's a damn good coach who always finds a way with the talent he has (or doesn't have). I think this would bode well for his offensive and defensive coach selection. He'd let them do what they're good at.
The downside of someone like Priefer is I'm not sure he'd be able to bring in the best staff because he's not as well connected as a Fox. This is a bigger issue because Pace is young and relatively unconnected and the Bears as an org. suck so it's going to be hard to attract good coordinator candidates.
2 years ago many of you insisted that a defensive minded head coach was the only way to fix this team. Now that the defense is slowly improving you say a offensive head coach is what we need.

HEY!!!! We are Bears fans....we are allowed to flip flop.....I think we should have a ST minded HC so pffft

In all fairness, even the McCaskeys have no idea what to do with this team.

Welcome to Bears-fandom, where everyone changes their minds weekly. You think this is bad, wait until next seasn when a rookie QB is starting and both Hoyer and Cutler are off starting somewhere esle.
Personally I've always wanted an OFF minded HC. But then again, I'd still prefer to have Forte, Bennett and Marshall so what do I know.

I was not one of those people I fully believed they needed to hire another O minded HC to continue build the O, while also being able to rebuild the broken Def.
My out of the box pick would be Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio.
He is having a rough year with, I believe, ten redshirt freshmen and losing Cook to the NFL, but has done a fantastic job bringing Michigan State back to revelance and a couple of Big Ten titles.
(He is probably the reason Michigan went so hard after Harbaugh)
If the Spartans tailspin this season, maybe it would be the one January you can pry him away from Michigan State.
(Doubtful, but so is Pace firing Fox in ten weeks)
