No Todd, or Josh.. They are better assistants than Head Coaches.. I doubt it that Harbaugh will leave Michigan..
+1 We often think that just because a guy is a solid coordinator, that they will make a good head coach. But in reality, it often turns out bad. The assumption is that the guy, if he's a coordinator guru, will make that side of the ball stellar at the new gig, and also be a solid head coach. But often, in the new gig, they can't give their undivided attention to the coordinator role - and - they fail at the HC role because it is a totally different job that requires a skill set that is different too.
Exactly.. Plus they acted like a**holes when they where coaches. Also, I don't want anyone from the CFL coaching the Bears again.
You all are just torturing yourselves thinking about this. Fox isn't going anywhere this year or the next. It would cost the Bears too much dead money right now.
On top of that getting rid of two coaches back to back after only two years for each would make it nearly impossible to bring in any decent candidates. No coach worth a shit will want to work for a team where ownership demands a complete rebuild of team in only two years or you're fired. This is especially true when many of the teams's current problems can be directly attributed to injuries.
The constant firing and hiring of GM / Coaches will make the Bears like the Browns.

I don't think Haley was bad as HC. I think both were just not ready for the HC Position. They went back to become assistants and I think they would be much better this time than they were last time.

Good point.
But what if Pace is firmly entrenched in Cutler's camp at least until they draft and groom a suitable replacement? Maybe Fox being done with Cutler has sealed an earlier than expected retirement.
I started this out kind of joking but if the Bears draft a QB w/their 2nd rd pick it may make sense to keep Cutler around for another season. I'll take him over noodle arm or any other journeyman next year. Maybe the rook shows something and has Cutty riding the pine or maybe there is a situation like in Dallas this season. The worst years of Cutler's contract are behind him (BTW Cutler's agent was genius for drafting up the contract the way he did!).

Why not just start your new QB? Nothing beats getting real experience. Sure they may struggle in their first season but it will only help them.
Release Cutler and use that extra cap space to help resign Jeffery while also not hurting you with big name FAs like Eric Berry.

I think it is better for a rookie QB to sit atleast a half season, maybe even a full season. The game moves to fast, and the last thing ya want is a deflated QB who is scared to even look up at the line.
