Losing a game isn't always the QBs fault. We blame everything but Cutler for years but when his backup outshines him again we go straight to making excuses?
Expect this is blatantly untrue. Cutler has gotten blame for everything that has gone wrong. I'm willing to bet I can find posts you made on the other board saying so. Yet now when blame is on the qb you like....Flip flop flip flop flip flop......

Its time to tank the season and draft a QB.
The only way this team will ever get better is if we get rid of the problem...

I think people may be over interpreting Fox because he likes giving vague and ambiguous answers. If he could get away with it he wouldn't confirm that he even had any QBs on the team. "It's something we're looking into. We had some success with QBs before but we'll see how practice goes and see how things look on Sunday."
Why he likes to do this we can only speculate. It appears he thinks it gives him some advantage.
Of course no one would have any issues with Fox if we had a winning record. All we can do is see if they can turn the season around.
It was mentioned when he started doing this that as long as the team was winning and improving that the media would give him a pass. But now, it doesn't look like the plan is working. The team looks worse than last year. The media was willing to go along with Fox and he was arrogant enough to believe that they were his allies. But guess what? The media don't like being played just like the fans don't like being played. The fans (even here on this board) get their information and analysis from the media since that is the only source. When the media turns on Fox, which is just beginning, the fan base will turn on Fox.
Fox believes he isn't responsible for communication with media/fans, but today in this internet age, a HC job includes media/fan relations. If Fox weren't so stubborn and off the cuff dismissive we (fans/media) wouldn't parse his every statement. It happened earlier with the "We don't challenge spots because they don't get over turned." It was an off the cuff dismissive answer to a question he didn't like. Well, it got parsed, fans found a stat (like 30% of spots challenges get reversed) and Fox took heat that he deserved. The next game he challenged two spots and got them both overturned. Its arrogance toward anyone questioning him. The strategic value of what he says or doesn't say is pointless. Teams have access to all the same sources we fans have. Every team knows who is injured, what the severity is and who is going to be starting all over the league. Its pointless for him and it hurts relations with the media/fans.
The Barth comment is another one. Barth is his hand picked kicker and this Fox believes he is beyond question on this. Well, Barth has missed and the response is to say.."We aren't worried long kicks aren't his strength?" Really? So you just admitted that the kicked you picked can't make kicks beyond 45 yards?
Same thing with the whole RBbC. Same with McPhee's injury. Same thing with Fuller's injury. Same thing with White's injury.
When the media turns on a coach, the fan base will follow. And when you have lost them both, the end is near. Best thing Pace could be doing is separating himself from Fox. This team isn't going to finish 6-10 again. Someone is getting fired.

I think Pace will get 1 more chance to hire a coach. But Emery only got the 1 coach so it may be both of them fired and we just cycle through more GM's and HC's. We've had 6 (three of each) in 5 years. Can't win that way.
None of us has a clue what's going on at Halas Hall . If they think Pace is in over his head , they'll know it and fire him . If they think there's more to the story and he deserves more time , they'll do that ... and the same goes for Fox .
I doubt the brass is gonna ignore bad mojo if they know it's there . And I doubt they're gonna ignore good mojo if they know it's there also ( even if the results on the field haven't started happening yet ) .
Seems too early to make those kinds of calls yet imo .
I sometimes wonder if the problems are more. It seems year after year we always have the same problems. New coaches, schemes and etc.. and this franchise is dead in the water. What if the problem is McCaskey? Remember with the Blackhawks how with new ownership became a much different team? What we need is something similar to the Patriots and Kraft. Someone who cares about Football and wants to see his team win. He hires the best and doesn't interfere. There is a reason that franchise has been so dominated the past 15+ years.
