I know many hate it but Hoyer is the better QB right now.
Actually I believe Fox literally has no plan for the QB position. The quote says it all. It says nothing about production. If Fox is basing who starts based on fantasy football numbers, he literally has no plan. And I'm on record as saying I'd start Hoyer. The sooner Fox is gone the better.

Here is the whole quote:
“Well, because we don’t have a plan,” Fox responded. “Right now we’ve got two guys healthy in Matt Barkley and Brian Hoyer. Those are our quarterbacks. All our focus is there.”
Fox should be done. Turn the team over to Fangio at this point. Fox is here just for a payday.
Maybe if reporters didn't act like little kids nagging their parents to buy them candy and toys at the grocery store , he'd have more patience with them and give them better answers . Plus , I don't see where ' the problem is ' in keeping the other team guessing who the starting QB is gonna be . Sheesh .
What's most disturbing to me and maybe should be to others is that I don't know all that much yet I've called this guy out in several threads for his lack of a plan before even reading him admit it. How is it I can read him and his lack of any logic and planning that easily and others think he should continue to coach a rebuilding team with no plan to do it with?
Why is this not as easy for some to see as the nose on your face?
He has no plan in force to turn this team around. From his dismissive comments I doubt he even cares all that much one way or another. Ongoing injuries, a couple of bad misses on top draft picks, and the loss of an OC who succeeded for him have left him worn out and tired of dealing with it all. You can here it in his pressers. It's just the same old answers the same old question and another week goes by without change.
I think he came here seeing it as another shot at another quick turnaround and it isn't. His rep is not being enhanced here it's being destroyed again just as it was in Carolina but he got a reprieve here in Denver once Elway got him Manning for a QB and some stud defenders so he could win a SB. He got three shots at, failed, and was let go. He's not even gonna get close to that level of success here. This year will be worse than last.
The smart thing for him to do is simply step down after this season. The game has passed him by and I doubt that he wants even more serious heart issues from the stress of trying to fix what he can't fix. Let Fangio have the last two years of his deal if he wants them. Donatell can be elevated to DC, he can keep the defensive staff intact, and evaluate the offensive staff after the season ends. All this talk about moving on from Cutler makes a whole lot less sense to me than moving on from Fox does.
I know many hate it but Hoyer is the better QB right now.
Nope. It only looks that way because of 1) our opponents have soft defenses, and 2) a functioning run game and an OL that's beginning to gel. Even those in the Chicago media that have been hardest on Cutler have admitted this.
Since Hoyer is the one playing right now he's been the beneficiary of an easier schedule and improved play all around him but we have no idea how Cutler would have played if he had those same benefits.
So while you can have that opinion it's not a fact.
Fox hasn't the faintest idea what he's doing or players like Howard and Meredith would not have been on the bench while others not as good started in front of them. Not when you tell everyone your objective as a HC is to put you best 22 on the field and he didn't.
So IMHO either Fox is an incompetent HC or if we want to play the conspiracy game he simply doing what he can to sabotage Cutler and keep the negative attention off himself by playing Hoyer when it benefits both of them to do so.
Hoyer plays against JAX but still doesn't win then Cutler returns to face the two toughest opponents we'll face at the end of the first 8 week cycle. Cute huh?
Soul, Fox tell you all this over dinner? Nightly phone calls? For a guy that never says anything when he talks you got all that? Heres another story. He came here promised the world, but didn't get it. Now he wants to make sure he goes out on top, turning the shit team into something? IFs IFs IFs Is my way any different then yours?

I don't have a problem with that ^^^^^ But maybe I have a reading comprehension problem here.
We can agree or disagree as to whether or not John Fox is a good coach. But the guy cares. This is his last lap of his career - his final legacy of how he's spent his life. He would dearly love to go out a winner here in Chicago.
Yes, he cares.
And I don't subscribe to the weird "conspiracy theories" about the team. The guy has 2 healthy QB's. Hoyer and Barkley. He believes Hoyer gives the team the best opportunity to win - instead of Barkley.
And as far as sharing his plan, I'm okay if he is closed about stuff like this. I understand others are not okay with it.

Yet Hoyer having half a defense while Cutler had a whole wasn't a benefit to him? Missing key guys like Goldman and Houston are huge on our lack luster pass rush and is reason why Luck was able to do what he did with one of the WORST O-line in the league. We can talk about how Hoyer might of cost us the game but the real truth is our kicker lost us this game. If he were to make that kick this game would be much different.
Losing a game isn't always the QBs fault. We blame everything but Cutler for years but when his backup outshines him again we go straight to making excuses?
I'm not a Fox believer myself after looking at his stats with the Panthers but one thing most of the media says and this isn't directed at Fox more so than Cutler. You can't win with Cutler. Cutler has an attitude that brings down the team to his poor level. Hoyer at least allows us to win. He plays it safe and also gives the ball to EVERYONE.
Maybe this is Fox's plan to get us to the top 3 pick this year without making it look like we're tanking. No one knows but you don't sit out a game who has an 100+ QBR...
