With some teams that need a QB, I won't be surprised if they offer a Bears a boatload of picks for their #8 pick.
Really depends on what happens in FA; and what happens before 8.
Den is apparently going to go after Kirk Cousins, but they won't be the only ones, there is also one of the three: Keenun, Bridgewater, Bradford, that's 3 guys right there that could change the draft. That also means teams probably won't wait until 8 either, some will try and move up into the 1-6 area to not chance it. But if one of the top 4 does make it to 8, I think the Bears could likely work a trade w/someone that is now getting anxious.
Depending on how we handle our CB situation I like Fitzpatrick and I like Chubb. The problem is unless some teams get very QB hungry chances are neither will fall as far as #8. After that I'm less certain. It's gonna take a couple of college all star games and the Combine for a few of these guys to separate from the pack.

True.. This is a weak QB class going into the draft.

Be interesting to see if need trumps that and also what happens with Cousins and Smith. Lots of teams looking for QBs.
I know, many would say an ILB is a reach at #8 and I do agree with that but the man seems to be the most talented ILB in the draft and is above even our great players like Danny Trevathan. One thing our defense has been lacking is a true difference maker in the middle. The last time we had it was Brian Urlacher and the guy who came close to that level of play is Freeman who has drug problems and already in his mid 30's.
This franchise has always been at its peak when we had a great RB and great LB.
Walter Payton - Mike Singletary Thomas Jones - Brian Urlacher Matt Forte - Brian Urlacher Gale Sayers - Dick Butkus
Maybe next in line will be Jordan Howard - Roquan Smith??

I don't know. I did read this about him at walterfootball.com. I don't know if it is accurate or not though:
Undersized Could have issues defending downhill runs straight at him Could have issues getting off blocks in the NFL May not have the weight to play middle linebacker in the NFL

As much as I like LBs out of U of G I don't see the fit. At 225lbs he's an undersized ILB or MLB and we need OLBs. In the NFL unless he adds weight he'd probably be a Will LB in a 4-3. Trevathan and Kwiatkoski are handling ILB well and with Timu and Jones (if we re-sign him) we have decent depth.
I wouldn't put him above a player like Fitzpatrick or the best edge guy.
