I'll shit myself...in a good way...if thats possible! lol
Me too. I wish I could believe it but find it hard to convince myself Sitton would want to come to a team where both G spots seems locked up with younger players in place.
I'd love to see him at C though. I'd love to see any upgrade that pushes Larsen back to the bench where he belongs.
TL=solid interior swing depth but not a starter in my mind.

I'd sure like to see this one happen. Maybe he could be our LG and move Whitehair to center and have Sitton-Whitehair-Long on the interior. With vets like Sitton and Long on either side of him, Whitehair would be fine his rookie year.
I think I would prefer to have Sitton play center. Whitehair needs to be tested at LG, to see if he is our future. I really hope Pace goes for this guy, have the cap if I my memory doesn't fail me.
How stupid does the Slauson cut look like now... Pace so far doesn't seem to have made a lot of boneheaded mistakes, but that one will nag us for a long time.. unless Ted Larsen and Whitehair plays out of their mind... let's hope!

The Slauson release was outright boneheaded move. I don't expect him to get Sitton because it would validate his bone headed move. But, I'm hoping he puts his ego aside and does the right thing for the team by making it better. Like they always espouse "if there's a better guy out there that can make the team better we'll get him." Well here's your opportunity, but I always think that is more of a lip service quote like saying "we have to play hard all 60 minutes."

The Chicago Bears are the first team veteran guard Josh Sitton will visit with per Adam Schefter:

Regarding the 'boneheadedness' of Pace's release of Slauson, most on the board feel strongly it was the wrong move. It was Pace's move to make though. Pace with input from the coaching staff did not feel that Slauson was a good fit for their shift into a zone blocking scheme. His movement skills and ability to block in space were limited which would affect how The Log could run his offense. At the time of his release, Pace had veteran Manny Ramirez and Hroniss Grasu on the roster. I think in hindsight the move seems boneheaded at the time the move was frustrating BUT it was clear a plan was in place.
With that said, I don't think Pace will have any issues bringing in and signing Sitton if he can ink him to a good deal. One of the issues will be the recent signing of Kyle Long for 10 million a year. Pace basically set a negotiation point for Sitton and his agent as both Long and Sitton are 3x Pro-Bowl guards. Might be hard to ink him to a deal though the fact they are bringing him in AND the fact he came here first bodes well for the team.

I hope you're right being a chi-fan I always expect the dumbest move.
