If it works, he'll be the GM for a long while; if it doesn't, no one will have to worry about him b/c he won't be around for another chance.
Im not sure what's the knock on Pace so far? And please don't give me that 'White' s*it. It was a solid pick at the time. This is his 3rd draft, and he already landed starters: Goldman, Floyd, Whitehair, Amos; decent reserves: Kwiatkoski, Bullard, Langford, jury is still out: White, Grassu (not his fault, injuries, could become very valuable) and Hall, Bush and Andre-Carson. +drafted a possible franchise qb! We didn't have anything like that in Chicago for ages.
I give Pace credit, he has a vision and he's not afraid to bank his job on it. I really hope it works out because I've liked having him as a GM so far.

+1,000 That is EXACTLY how I see it. I sure hope he gets it done here. I like the guy, and his vision for the franchise. I don't want to sound like a jerk here, but honestly I think a significant percentage of the Bears fans are not very bright, and they have no patience. It's all about instant gratification. No patience for Pace to build with a vision for lasting long-term success versus making fan-popular moves. And not all decisions are ever going to pan out. Pace will (and has) made some mistakes. But that doesn't mean he isn't a pretty sharp GM. Even guys like Belichick make their share of mistakes. But they make enough right decisions to have a perennial winning teams.
This will be Pace's 3rd season. That really isn't a long time.

To be honest, listening to 670 and espn 1000; and hearing stories about how chicago fans treat visiting fans, I think it's fair to say they are extremely football incompetent, and way to easily swayed by the local and national media. These assholes were booing Trub at the Bulls game last night, and boo'd Glennon during his trip to the Cubs. Bears fans make it as hard to root for this team at times as the Bears themselves.

I didn't get the Trub boo's! wtf
That's why I became a passive fan. People take this sheit way toooooo seriously. It is a game and national sport at the end of the day and we all got to take it with a grain of salt. Oh don't get me wrong as I have blown so many gaskets with the Bulls this year but in the end the only way to deal with it is not pay for any merchandise, tickets, or viewing fees. That's it, not much after that you can do.

I can't possibly be bringing down the average IQ that much....
