+1,000 That is EXACTLY how I see it. I sure hope he gets it done here. I like the guy, and his vision for the franchise. I don't want to sound like a jerk here, but honestly I think a significant percentage of the Bears fans are not very bright, and they have no patience. It's all about instant gratification. No patience for Pace to build with a vision for lasting long-term success versus making fan-popular moves. And not all decisions are ever going to pan out. Pace will (and has) made some mistakes. But that doesn't mean he isn't a pretty sharp GM. Even guys like Belichick make their share of mistakes. But they make enough right decisions to have a perennial winning teams.
This will be Pace's 3rd season. That really isn't a long time.
To be honest, listening to 670 and espn 1000; and hearing stories about how chicago fans treat visiting fans, I think it's fair to say they are extremely football incompetent, and way to easily swayed by the local and national media. These assholes were booing Trub at the Bulls game last night, and boo'd Glennon during his trip to the Cubs. Bears fans make it as hard to root for this team at times as the Bears themselves.
Seriously.... No class....
These are kids that are getting their first real break in life. It is a once in a lifetime experience for them. No one knows how good or how bad they will be yet. How are they to be expected to give every last bit of sweat for the fans when they get treated like that? I'm embarrassed over stuff like that. Totally classless.

I can't possibly be bringing down the average IQ that much....
I don't know BIH, when I went to enroll for a few MSU arm chair GM courses the catalog was very glossy and all. But it had "Send Money" tatoo'ed all over it and not much else. LOL

Those are the two pertinent aspects of the degree.
I liked the Mitchell pick and I could understand the Adam pick but I'm pretty baffled by our selections in the 4th round. I'm not a professional scout and def. don't know what they're looking for, but Eddie Jackson over Desmond King is a bit mind blowing.
I give Pace credit, he has a vision and he's not afraid to bank his job on it. I really hope it works out because I've liked having him as a GM so far.
He's acting like a legit NFL GM. I just like having a real GM (I would not include Emery or most of JA's Bear career in that category). IMO the least real GM we had was Vanisi.
If he has made mistakes in his moves, he will pay for it and we will all go into a collective super depression. Only time will tell if it all works out or not. But right now all I see is a guy who is working really really hard and making the tough decisions needed to build an elite team.

Meatball fans suck and that's terrible. Give these guys a chance!
If it works, he'll be the GM for a long while; if it doesn't, no one will have to worry about him b/c he won't be around for another chance.
What team isn't? I think the first two picks were solid selections. Pace hasn't done anything to ruin my trust in him so I'm willing to see how it all shakes out.
