We joke around about the guy, but I'm curious, do you think he can be a decent OC? He's young and doesn't have a lot of experience yet. Is there potential there, or not?
Gase was brought in to be our OC. Fox determined that Cutler should be our QB going forward (the man is an uncanny judge of talent). The person that Jay wanted and also had worked well with Jay was Loggains. That's why he was brought in. And it was sound. Gase was a much better OC than Loggains. He was more aggressive - even under Fox.
So that worked well. Then Fox's decision to run with Cutler turned out not to have been maybe his best decision (I say maybe because there are too many to choose from) and they know (at least I think so) that the QB that Loggains was brought in for won't be here next year. They also know that the league HC's are probably not going to be losing sleep over how they are going to get Loggains to be their OC based on h is body of work next year. So of course, based on all this new knowledge..... Fox evaluates what has happened, looks at his options and decides Loggains is the best OC out there for the Bears in 2017. (Like I said.... the man is a marvel to watch attack a problem to solve).
Having Loggains here made sense. To me at least, keeping him ...... well, not so much. But I think he may still get better. I'm ok looking at him one more year. But the issue with this is the Lovie or the Tucker syndrome. Not sure, but don;t like what you see? Think we are fucked but want to be fucked for sure before you make a move? Yep.... that's how we roll. Lose another year while we make sure that the pain we felt was not just hemorrhoids.
