So let's ignore the fact that we had 18+ players on IR?
It be different if we had at most 5 players on IR and had 3 wins. When your impact players are gone this is what happens.
Was the Cowboys a team that lack talent last year to end up 4-12?
Seeing that they're 13-3 this year I say no...
We don't have a QB... no matter who was on the field.
Those Players on IR... how many were our talented STARTERS?
Let's see:
P.Mcphee missed half the season E.Goldman missed half the season L.Houston was gone for 14 games... ( Our best pass rusher ) K.Fuller missed the whole season ( Our best CB ) J.Cutler ( Missed 11 games ) B.Hoyer ( Started only 5 games ) E.Royal ( Missed half the season ) K. White ( 1st round pick, missed 12 games this season ) A. Jeffery ( Missed 4 games ) L.Floyd ( Missed 4 games ) H.Grasu ( Missed all this year. Yes he was suppose to be our starter ) K.Long ( Only played 8 games but was hurt all those games ) D. Trevathan ( Only played 9 games ) J. Freeman ( Missed 4 games ) Z. Miller ( played 10 games out 6 ) Bryce Callahan ( Missed 5 games )
Do I need to continue the list?
When we had Barkley and Fales for around half the year with a WR core consisting of Jeffery and Meredith and Brown ( TE ) what do you expect us to do?
Are you saying this team has less talent than our 6-10 year we had in 2015?
A. Jeffery ( Missed 4 games ) L.Floyd ( Missed 4 games ) Callahan (Missed 5 games) Really wouldn't count those, that's 12 games they played in, same w/Miller, 10 games, bit on the low side, but considering that he's not played a 16 game season since his first 2 years in the league, it was a pretty good. Wouldn't count Grassu either, Biggs had said all offseason that Whitehair was the better option at Center, and it proved to be true.
Really there are 8 guys on that list who missed a lot of time and who impacted the game. And that's including Cutler, who was pretty much played to a standstill by both his backups

Why not count those?
Who did we have for their replacement?
Our WRs were all hurt. So losing Jeffery did hurt. With a guy like Barkley throwing the ball. He needed all the help he can get. Acho isn't close to a good pass rusher so losing Floyd along with Houston hurt us.
Callahan played well, problem was our depth in the CB which did hurt us when we started losing players back there.
Doesn't matter if Biggs said Whitehair was better or not. Grassu was the guy who was suppose to start.
Most of our unit was gone when we started to get to the end of the season.
But very few players I listed only played 12 games. Most missed 6+ which is a huge problem.
Did you read my entire post? I pointed out the ones that only missed a few games and said they shouldn't be counted.

Really hard to say how much impact Cutler would have had. He is our best QB but still single handedly loses as many games as he wins.

He's the best Bears midget, whoops, I mean QB, in the modern era. Right? :-(
