I don't understans all these Romo-to-Bears predictions. Why would he want to come here? He's got a few years left at best to win a SB so why would he want to go to a rebuilding team that isn't ready to compete for a championship? Houston or Denver seem like way better and more realistic fits.
Look at what others have for contracts and tell me that he has an insane contract. It's a reasonable contract for his Level of Play. I don't think Romo will miss much time next season.
You think 24 mill is reasonable for his level of play? Really?
I think that his $14.5 million in 2017 (base salary minus $10.7 mil dead cap) & $15.3 million in 2018 (base salary minus $8.9 mil dead cap) are reasonable for the Bears.
Dallas will be on the hook for his Dead Cap - traded or Cut. If they cut/trade him after june 1st, they can spread his Dead Cap Hit over 2 years.
Trading Romo Should the Cowboys trade Tony Romo prior to June 1st, they would be responsible for all $19.6M of the dead cap in 2017. It would behoove them to wait until after 6/1 to process this transaction to allow the dead cap to spread out into $10.7M in 2017, and $8.9M in 2018. However, waiting until June to trade Romo hurts his value, as teams will be addressing their QB needs both in March free agency, and in the 2017 draft prior. This is likely the reason you're hearing Romo and his camp requesting an outright release.
Tell me again that his contract is insane and sucks for the Team that is going to pick him up.
They won't take on the full 19 Million because they already exceed the projected Cap.

considering he's played 5 games in 2 years? Ya that's a heafty sum even if he can double last years # to 8.

I don't think he will miss that much time. Since he was named the starter in 2006, he has missed 32 of 170 Games or 18,3% of all games with majority being the last to years. He can Rebound and be productiv.
Other than that, how is that a big contract for a QB that is above average? This will be in the same ballpark than Glennon and Garoppolo, less than Osweiler. How's that bad for us?
German, but the trend in the NFL is that once you start to get injured it's a cliff. He's spent 2 years where he basically didn't play b/c of inj's, and he's already "old" in NFL terms. Maybe he doesn't miss 1 and 4 games, but he's not going to play 13-16 either.

Read what you just posted and tell me again why Dallas is trading him? And then tell me why we're going to wait that long to address QB on the HOPES we could trade for Romo? And then tell me again why after we wait that long to address the QB situation if Romo is released why he would 1. Want to come here, and 2. Sign for any less than 15 million dollars? Then after you've answered all that EXPLAIN TO ME WHY WE WOULD WANT TO SPEND BIG MONEY ON A QB WHO IS OLD AND CANNOT STAY HEALTHY!!!!!!!!?

Nothing about the fact that his contract isn't as high as you said? Nothing about the fact that he will only Count against the Cap with 14.5 Million if traded? That's insanity?
You are avoiding the Facts here with your own speculation. Just read the Facts. You said his contract is too high, I Show you for the Team that picks him up, it will be fair at worst and more likely cheap.
Now to your speculativ questions:
The Cowboys can do what they want with him, they can Cut him, trade him or Keep him. It won't Change that the Cap Hit/Dead Cap is on them. After knowing that they will be tight to the Cap, they will want to get rid of his contract and save some Money.
They can work out a trade that just happens after June 1 in a Gentlemans Agreement. The Option with Post June 1st Designated Release is the most likely.
Now to that other stuff:
If we have a trade and just do the Cowboys a favor by waiting until june 1, we can easily do it. We can sign Hoyer or Barkley, still draft a QB and let him develop. What if Watson and Trubisky go 1/2 in the draft? You take Garrett and have nothing as QB other than already. That's why signing a journeymen is needed, drafting a QB with our 2nd/3rd and while this guy develops, you go after the win now Romo. Why not us? What if no better Team is interested? What if the Broncos want their high pick to Play? What if the Texans don't want to admit the Osweiler mistake? What if Palmer isn't retiring while Cousins stays with the Skins. What other Team would be as good as we are with the #15 D that added Garrett and a strong running game added to a solid OL? What if all that happens and he has no other Options with the Browns and 9ers taking their guys in the draft?
It's possible and getting Romo would help us while it allows us to take a guy that Needs 1-2 years of learning.
I don't even know why you guys are discussing this lol
He will be 37 this year, and he has 4 starts in the last two years. those two things alone are enough to say no thanks...
Exactly. Might be different if the Bears were in a "win now" position and just needed a QB quick. I don't see Romo being worth getting unless he can be had as a FA for dirt cheap.
