Bears would buy some time to develop their guy and Fox will be interested in win now. It makes sense for the Bears, but Romo - if cut like Manning was - goes to a Team like Denver.
From what has been said Jones isn't going to trade him to the highest bidder though, he'll have a say in who he goes to. And there was some talk that they might just release him, probably b/c of that insane contract, which btw is the # 1 reason the Bears, or any team, shouldn't trade for him.
Tony Romo averages 18 mill a year and has a cap number of 24.7 mill next season, going up to 25+ the next season, and higher the season after that. Why do some of you assume he's going to come at some bargain price? Please explain this "logic" to me.

Not sure what a bargain price is, but he won't get someone to take that contract. He will be making less. He has had injuries and honestly, even when healthy was not a killer QB. Some association with Hernandez might have made him one though.
I'd take Romo for a 2 year $24 million contract. That would be $12 million each year and I think that's about all he's worth. He would be an alright starter while developing a rookie. I do feel Romo would be a good leader and mentor to a QB, better than what Cutler would be. I'm not paying much more to bring him in though.

Look at what others have for contracts and tell me that he has an insane contract. It's a reasonable contract for his Level of Play. I don't think Romo will miss much time next season.

Fitzpatrick got 12 mill per last year...you think Romo is signing the same deal Fitzpatrick signed last season? I'm gonna go with no.

You think 24 mill is reasonable for his level of play? Really?

I didn't say he would take that deal. I'm saying that's all I offer because that's all I'm willing to give. He could want $15 million but I'm not giving it too him. I don't think the Bears need him that badly. He's worth about $12-$13 million in my opinion, take it or sign with another team.
I wouldn't use the Fitz deal for guidelines either. Fitz had come off of a really good season with the Jets. The Jets were in desperate need of a QB. It was either pay Fitz what he wanted or go with another guy. The Bears are not in that position and can do whatever they want. The Bears are still try to rebuild and the Jets were trying to win now, big difference.
