I haven't. I have 3 years of a body of work that my judgement comes from, including MULTIPLE huge games the past 2 years. What you got for Trubisky?
I got a guy who has better accuracy, better footwork, good decision-making, and has enough speed to escape the pocket if needed.
Note: I'm not saying I want us to draft a QB in the first but he is by far the best QB in this draft.
1% point separates them this year when it comes to completion percentage, and for their CAREER they are even. For a guy who talks about not letting 1 game sway you, you sure let 1 season sway you. Also...Larry Fedora was Rex Grossmans coach...nuff said! LOL
Kaaya wont be as good as the others. But if that was paces eval thats what he should do.
But per usual with this draft and with past drafts youve kicked the most important position down the road for a weaker position.
Safties can lose games but they arent winning them if the qb on your team cannot score
Well Ric, for starters I value your opinion but keep in mind this is an online mock draft game for fun. It's not real & you play the cards you're dealt. If you play it 100 times you get 100 different scenarios. It's a lot of fun to play & never turns out the same way twice.
Having said that I picked who I thought was the BPA in a position of need every pick, as I would if I was worthy of being a GM & I hope Pace does the same thing! This team is low on talent level @ most positions & lacks playmakers. I don't think we can afford to over draft a QB just because we need one, hoping & praying he is the franchise QB that has eluded us for so long. IMHO, safety & the secondary overall is without question the biggest need on this team, and IMHO, this mock draft (For fun) fixed that. I got the top two safeties & two of the top CBs in the draft. I was shocked they were still there when my pick came up. We all know that this draft would never turn out like this for obvious reasons but if it did I would probably have wet dreams for the entire off season!
We all know QBs are extremely important & probably the hardest position to play in all of professional sports. You have to know your job & everyone else's. You have to make decisions on the fly with 300lb people running at you trying to tear your freaking head off. You have to know when to take chances & when to throw it away. You have to anticipate open WR routes, blitzes, where the blitz is coming from, etc, etc, etc. True franchise QBs are extremely rare & when one comes around they are usually stated so by the draft "gurus", with some obvious exceptions, like Brady & Montana, as a few examples . Although I admit I haven't watched all tape on all the QBs that could be early round picks & that I'm certainly not a QB guru, I do watch a lot of college football & IMHO I haven't seen one of them that I would take with the 3rd pick in the draft. Even most of the so called expects say all of these potential 1st rd rated QBs have multiple holes in their game & I haven't heard any talk of any of them being called a "Franchise QB". If you have I would be interested to know who that is. I didn't ignore it though. I picked a guy early in the 2nd rd, just where a lot of people think he should be drafted, who has improved throughout the year & has a lot of upside.
One thing I do know is defense wins championships & if I can get a safety who several of the draft "gurus" say can be the next Ed Reed, I'd take him with the 1st pick in the draft. What more can you ask for with the 1st pick in the draft than a player compared to a multiple pro bowler & future hall of famer? Trent Dilfer won a SB with Ed Reed at safety for God's sake!
There are more ways to score than on offense but if you can't stop the other team you have no chance to win on a consistent basis.
Hey if you went BPA that's fine, i'm normally 100% w/BPA, or at least BPA by position. But man I hope FA got you a QB
dead on w/the mocks to. It's why I try and discard any players that seem out of wack; if Watson is there in the 3rd, I'm not picking him b/c it's not realistic to get him there
I love mocks. Garrett was still there at 5 and we knew he would be when we traded back while at #3.
Yeah, that's hilarious. You drafted an entire football roster. I wouldn't waste my time with "simulators" that don't actually simulate anything remotely realistic.

it's the problem w/that emulator. I remember on dbs a few years ago I got to like 50-100 picks b/c I constantly traded back. I'm not sure if you could still do it, seems like you don't get trade back offers everytime now but it was hilarious, I think benj and someone else got just about as many.
I'm not asking you to change your mind but don't use one game as a reason for us to get Watson.
He's a huge project imo and is that really worth the #3 pick?
Not sure you get it dude. Watson has a 33-5 NCAA record. He's appeared in 2 NCAA Championship Games and has a title. I guess he's only had one good game though.
+1 I would add that he has been battle-tested against the "best of the best defenses" in the Nation, at the major college level. He's faced teams loaded with guys who will be in the NFL - and won. He has performed on the biggest stages in the nation - and won. He has faced stellar defenses in the biggest games in the Nation - and won. In fact he has performed in front of crowds far larger than pipsqueak Soldier Field can even seat.
While none of that alone means much, when you combine it with his talent - both physical and mental - it is just one more good factor to consider. I really don't care one bit what these players do at the Combine, because a better test is what these players have done in REAL games against the BEST teams in the Nation. That means more, I think, than a guy's vertical jump or 40-time or whatever meaningless metric will be recorded at the Combine.

Yeah, they're just for fun or to have something to do football wise waiting on the combine & FA to start.

you know you just crapped on my day. To have it broken to me on a public forum that I can't get 22 players all with mostly A grades in the draft is hard to take. I'm just going to have to stare at my avatar some more and hope she gets me up.
THis is a bit off topic. After the Houston game last night I went back to look at their 'rebuild.' Houston has been an historically bad team and they've recently started showing signs of life (still a QB away from a contender). Look at their rebuild starting back in 2008
Duane Brown, Brian Cushing, Kareem Jackson, JJ Watt, Whitney Mercilus, DeAndre Hopkins, Jadeveon Clowney, Kevin Johnson, Will Fuller (1st round picks since 2008)
They've had a long, slow rebuild but have a strong foundation right now. I feel like they're a QB away from being a real contender. People talk about quick rebuilds and I think they happen in the NFL but only if the team that's being rebuilt hasn't had a long stretch of busts in the first. If you look at the Raiders - they're another team who's been in the process of a multi year rebuild with Reggie. He's given them a strong foundation and a good quarterback who he picked up in the 2nd round AFTER nailing it with Khalil Mack.
JABF was the voice of reason when we ditched Emery and Trestman reminding everyone that this deal was gonna take time. Some argued that quick rebuilds are possible - and I agree - but not on a roster like the Bears. We gotta get our QB AND we gotta add talent. If we can find a QB who's above average, I think we can be good this year. If we can't, we can get incrementally better but we're not gonna be competitive.

When we drafted Shea, at the time I said for DE we should have went w/Jones or LB we should have went w/Whitney, just wanted to throw that in there b/c he's been killing for a few years now.
here's the crazy thing, they've had 2 picks inside the top 10 in the last 10 years. So while they haven't been great they haven't been terrible either.
