Kaaya wont be as good as the others. But if that was paces eval thats what he should do.
But per usual with this draft and with past drafts youve kicked the most important position down the road for a weaker position.
Safties can lose games but they arent winning them if the qb on your team cannot score
BUT he's addressed our secondary in a big way. If these 3 prove to be legit NFL players (pretty sure Hooker is going to make a name for himself in the NFL) and can gel as a unit - Man that would be awesome. Besides we can get Chad Kelly in the 4th
I'd rather have Kaaya.
QB OL DL LB CB RB S TE WR
Great you've fixed something that's about as important as RB/WR/TE on the list of things that win SB's. Ya it's important, and you need good S's, but you cannot win consistently w/out a qb.
I don't have high opinions of Trubisky b/c 1yr qb wonders scare me but again it's not my choice it's Pace's and I'll be fine w/whatever he does as long as he takes a serioius approach to QB, either trade real fa move or high pick on one of the top qb prospects. I saw enough of Kizer last year when that team was complete to really like him. I was high on Kaaya until I saw a game and read more reports about him. He's definitely not on the same page as the top 3.
Weren't you the same person who told me that 1 year players are ok?
I'm still a fan of Trubisky and wish he fell to the late first for us to grab him. Watson seems to have a bust factor imo. His footwork, accuracy issue, needs to work under center, Ball security, and Poor ball placement which his wrs seem to bail him out.
Nice hightlight video to watch:
I really don't want us to draft a project with our 1st pick but Trubisky is the best QB in this draft.
For WR? Yes it's okay for WR. For QB? A position that is far more valuable and cannot rely strictly on athleticism; no.

Watch full game tapes, not highlights.
I do, I still stand by my points with Watson because of those games. Don't let one game cloud your judgement.

They all have a bust factor. We've been over this a thousand times or more in past years and the point stands: all draft picks are projection based and all draft picks have the potential NOT to transition their game to the NFL. Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, Derek Carr, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz...there is no such thing as a sure thing draft pick. You base your choice off the evidence you have available realizing that choice might not end up the way you planned.
The thing I like about Watson is his intangibles and his body of work. Watson could have come out last year following his strong season. He went back to Clemson to compete for a National Title for a second straight year even though doing so risked injury and the potential for bad tape. Watson loves the game and is gonna work his ass off to improve. I also like that he's coming from Clemson. He's not getting the best QB coaching there AND he's not working in a pro-system. While that's partially a problem as there are question marks on whether he can transition his game to the 'pro-game system' it also has the potential to be upside because with his strong work ethic he's gonna have the ability to really excel under tutelage in the NFL. Maybe his true game has yet to be revealed.
He has his faults. He's not the most accurate QB. He takes risks with his body. He hasn't consistently shown an ability to make whole field reads cause he hasn't been asked to. Every quarterback coming out has those concerns. He's eased my mind not on the Alabama game this year but on his consistent ability to lead his team to victory DESPITE some of his faults and failures in game. Watson has that confidence factor, that ability to put the last play behind him and find a way to make the next play.
I think the dude's gonna be a good pro. I'd take a risk on him with that #3 pick.

yeah. If we knew Kelly was The Guy, sure..... you can address other weaknesses. Having the QB squared away does that for a team. But since we don;t know that and we really can't be a good team until we have a good QB, I'm not sure I would take that gamble.
There is not a QB in this draft worth wasting a top 10 or for matter a 1st round pick let alone a #3 pick. The Bears need to trade back for more picks, they have sooo many needs if Pace picks right the Bears can't lose
