Did you guys here what they said about Bullard? He wasn't really a fit for what they wanted to do b/c he didn't do it in college but that he's working on it, and that he has some traits you cannot teach that they like.
btw, they are dogging Fox hard. It was reported earlier this AM that whispers are that Fox was flexing his muscle and getting to do things he shouldn't really be doing in HH, and they are drawing that into why he was at the GM end of year presser, and why he felt to jump in to close out answers that weren't directed at him but Pace.
Sounded like they didn't know what they were going to do about qb but they were going to look at everything from FA, trade to the draft. Something they didn't bring up was bringing back anyone already on the team.

yeah, I heard that about Bullard. Like I said, I like Pace and he really did a good job. Fox was not impressive. If he in fact is overstepping his boundaries, only Pace can fix that. However, I suspect he is overstepping his boundaries (if it is happening) because Pace let's him. I'm afraid he might end up taking Pace down with him. Or Pace will keep Foxes boat floating with more talent but the organization will not operate at optimum capability because Pace refuses to look right under his own nose.
From what I saw Pace was impressive. Again, I know I fall in the minority here on this but injuries have an impact on things. It's just a simple fact. As for the OC stuff....I don't think thats necessarily a done deal until McCoy goes somewhere else.
Also thus far Pace has done enough for me that he should be able to hire another coach, I don't think they should go down together.
If he refuses to stop backing Fox and it is apparent it is Foxes fault (both long term assumptions), then they may not have a choice but to let him go if he refuses to let Fox go.

I have no problem with him publicly backing his coach though. You don't need to put it out there publicly that he may or may not be on the hot seat. I really don't see how him coming out and publicly questioning Fox or not backing him helps this team get any better. Someone will need to explain that to me. To me you handle all that in house and not in the newspapers.

That's all true Butkus. But I am pretty good at seeing visual cues and I really got the feeling that he and Fox were close from Paces standpoint. I saw more tension with Fox than I have seen since he started with the Bears. I think he may be under pressure, but I still can't help feeling like he is still Paces guy. Hope I am wrong.

That all may be true. Mags was Fox's guy...been with him for 14 out of his 15 years as an HC, yet he was shown the door today.

yeah.... fair point. Well... we now know where the coaching carousel for the Bears sits. Pretty much no changes. So now move forward with the rest, Nothing much will happen for a while.
