You draft his replacement. You are putting terrible options on the table.
1 Cut Cutler 2 draft his replacment in round 1 or 2 3 play that player or a guy like hoyer or barkley until the rookie is ready. 4 if that guy isn't good enough draft another one in rounds 1 or 2.
5 stop pretending that NE's backup qb's are some kind of savior and giving up higher picks and higher cost contracts then the above.
Not sure why we'd cut Cutler. He has to have some value in the trade-market.
That would be my approach as well but when it comes to the "haters" they prefer an angry break up to a common sense approach. Ric wants out so bad he's willing to see the Bears play the QB lotto again no matter how many times they have to spin the wheel and how many times they've lost doing it in the past.
He likes spending even higher picks for less than half the QB for less money. The McCaskeys love fans like him.
Wish I could get him in a poker game. Bet I'd whip his ass. LOL

Fine trade him, but I'm not sure he has any value to be honest, but ya if you can get something for him, then do that.
Well we already understand he has no value to you but luckily you don't run any of the other NFL teams.
Tell ya what. Since after watching him play nearly everyone who saw him agrees that Trubisky would benefit from another year at the college level that leaves us with Watson and Kizer. Take your pick at #3. Either one.
If either of them starts for us next year and can win 8 games or more I will publicly beg your forgiveness for being so wrong and if that doesn't happen you have to put "Maybe Cutler wasn't so bad after all" in your sig. line. LOL
We can def. do worse than Cutler but we need to move on. He's been here too long and has had too little in terms of results. Find a good trade partner - should be plenty of bidders - and take the risk of a rookie or an FA.
It's really time to move on for the Bears and Cutty.

I'm quite OK with that despite what Ric thinks. Neither Cutler or the team is reaching it's full potential with him but that's never been all his fault. He was winning well enough until the upheaval five years ago and since then we haven't won much no matter who plays QB. He could use a new start.
My only requirement is to not be handed anymore of this crap about stepping back in order to move forward which will be the excuse next year if we draft and play a rookie QB. Since we already know neither Hoyer or Barkley are starting material I'm open to suggestions as to who would be.
I've made one proposal which few seem to support so let's hear some other options. It's not like there's QB tree out bearing bushels of ripe and ready QB fruit so lay some other options out y'all. Ones that at least have some chance of coming true and actually working.
Personally I think NE would be fools to trade Garoppolo but Belicheat is so confident in his systems I'm sure he feels that given a couple of years he can fit any QB into team and win. Whose to say he can't because he did it with a 6th round pick few other teams wanted.
Browns have been a dumpster fire for a decades, SF just fired their coach and GM, who do you think are bigger dumpster fires?
Bears are bad, no doubt, but I don't think you could expect them to be as bad as either next year. The far biggest reason the Bears weren't .500 this year is b/c of the injuries. Neither the Browns or SF can say that.

I know a lot of Bears fans would be ok with the Jimmy G-Spot trade if was reasonable. I'm a fan of drafting our next QB. I like what I see in Watson but then again I'm not a scout for a reason.

Drink up Ric.....LOL
I didn't think they could be anywhere near this bad this year but now I know that anything is possible. They keep spooning up the crap and you just open up and ask for more. I'm tired of eating their crap so you can have my share brother.....may I be excused from the table.

Watching Packers v Lions right now.
It's just astonishing to witness the difference between Aaron Rodgers and ANY BEARS QB of the last decade.
He's accurate, scrambles for first downs, extends plays, has tremendous pocket awareness, rarely throws an ill-advised pass or INT, almost never fumbles even when pressured, repeatedly draws offside and 12-man penalties, nd simply finds ways to win.
The performance gap is enormous. Even Cutler, the best of the Bears bunch, is not even remotely close.

Rodgers is amazing. It's not just his arm. Tonight he is playing an incredible game. His football IQ is off the charts. And so elusive in extending plays with his feet.

Contrast that with Bears QBs (Cutler and Barkley, I'm looking at you right now).
They throw dumb picks, rarely extend plays or move the chains with their feet, constantly are getting blindsided and strip-sacked, and generally find ways to lose and throw games away.
