Presumably, that would be Flus. He’s been playing his part very well so far. But then so has Warren, if he’s tilting at windmills and thinking we’re on track to a Super Bowl.
I'm guessing that Warrren is riding the horse, and tilting at windmills. That makes Poles the horse. Flus would be Poles' buddy riding next to him. Flus is riding Waldron and hoping to save himself. That would make Waldron the ass.

I don’t think so. Warren says Poles is Sancho. Sancho has great affection for his ass, which would be Flus. That’s going to be Warren’s problem if he wants to get rid of the ass.
If they win 8 games, I can see Waldron in the role of sacrificial lamb like Getsy was last year. If they win 9 games, they can declare “progress” (9>7) and everybody keeps his job — conventional Bears football.
We had family in town this past weekend and we all went to the game.
I barely know what to say. I would never have guessed the Bears would look that bad. They were horrible. About the only "positive" I could come up with is that our kicking was good. Tory Taylor and Cairo were the only Bears who looked like they cared and played well.
One thing I do know is that I am officially done with these coaches. Call it Wal-Flus or Flus-dron or whatever, when I speak of Flus I am including the HC and the OC in my comments.
These guys suck. These guys are really bad at their job. These guys have to go. Neither of them should be here in 2025.
Before this game I said Flus needed to A) win the next two games and B) go at least 3-3 in division to warrant consideration for staying on next year. Well, that first one is already gone so now he needs to go at least 4-2 in division and even that is assuming we don't choke vs New England next weekend.
The chance that Flus can pull that off is not zero but I think we all would agree it is a very low probability event. So, in effect, what I am saying is that Flus is finished here. Barring a near-miracle, he is gone in January.
...This staff makes Nagy look good in comparison....
Thats really the disturbing part. Nagy was so clueless as a HC, OC and play caller. But, regardless of 7 teams now in the playoffs, Nagy went twice. Flus can't even get his overall record to .500.
I'm having fun creating the worst coaching staff the Bears could hire, this is where I am currently:
HC Lincoln Riley OC Matt Canada DC Matt Patrica
Or (I call this one "Get the band back together")
HC Bill Belichek OC Josh McDaniels DC Matt Patrica ST Joe Judge

I'd add that they are blowing it with developing Caleb Williams too. They totally wasted his first year, and a year of his rookie contract too. A great coaching staff would be ramping him up for a legit great year in 2025. Instead you hope this doesn't set back his career to some extent. At the very least he'll have to learn a new offense (no small thing) and start over next year.

I am confident of two things:
There will be a couple of excellent candidates available and...

Yep, he's going the wrong way right now.
Its so easy to see from the stands what you don't see on TV. Williams is passing up easy checkdown throws and instead holding it too long trying for a big play. Keenan Allen is running too many vertical routes (he isn't fast anymore) and too few shallow crossers (where his crisp routes would actually help). Kmet has been all but removed from the offense--he has only 1 target the last 2 games. Waldron won't run the ball and instead exposes the OL by calling a lot of empty backfield throws. Flus can't beat anyone except creampuffs and, on the road, he usually can't even beat them.
Poles really eff'd up bad last offseason in keeping Flus. I still have no idea why they thought that was a good idea with a new QB coming onboard.

The failure to use Kmet is a mystery. DJ Moore is not getting enough targets, either. I don’t know whether to blame this all on Waldron, or does Williams just zone-in too much on Odunze even when he’s covered. It sometimes looks like that to me.

The Commanders secondary pretty much blows.
The Cardinals secondary is also bad and they have had no pass rush all season (until yesterday).
Yet, despite having Moore, Allen, Kmet, Odunze, and Swift, Waldron was completely unable to scheme up an effective passing attack. Outside of those 2 rushing TDs in the 4th Q last weekend, we have 9 points in 7 quarters of football with about 200 net passing yards.
